Its seems a bit soon for a big operation to be switching to the upstart Catagory 5, IMHO. What have they done that shows so much promise? Why leave Longhorn when they've had so much success and essentially a direct line to Rumley? I'm not knocking the catagory 5 stuff, I like variety and start ups, but the Landers operation strikes me as an establishment/name brand kinda mindset... Am I missing something? JD has matured as a driver and understands racing for the big picture, so...

Something has to be up with Longhorn in general, you got a lot leaving, and then various copies.

Then there are only a few that are fast, 5 Drivers?

Either they cant supply the Teams, or the support is not there, or they are price gouging but i dont know what kind of deal some get with "support".

        Just say no...

Everyone doesn't get the same support. It's impossible. As the pool gets bigger, the haves and have nots are farther apart

Remember didn't they just relocate a few yrs back as someone is overseeing operations. May b something wrong within company now.

I've seen the Larson/Rumley combination not in sync before. It happens.

The cars are known to be very inconsistent off the jig. One car could be amazing, then the next never reacts to changes.

Certainly appeared HTF had 2 bad ones. Although still think the Eldora wreck from last season truly killed the newest one.

I remember when the longhorn chassis program was just getting rolling good. Mason's Ziegler had won a SN race at brushcreek. At that time, longhorn associates were saying they wanted to keep their group small so that small group could be better. We see how that has turned out. They were talking the same talk we are hearing about Wells cars now. Keep the numbers down and only let certain guys in them to keep the info circle small.

Nothing wrong at Longhorn, great people that will help anyone (doesn't mean they throw every customers info to each other). They have saturated the pool so much that it only makes sense some will have to venture away. Sometimes the reason people switch to a manufacturer is not the problem, hence the issue continues. As for the quality control, I know first hand how serious they (Longhorn) take that and can honestly say it is close to Barry Wright level (Barry has always set the standard with quality work in my book). When more than half the field is running your stuff someone has finish last in class....

I said a while back that it’s only a matter of time until guys starting switching back. When 3/4 of the field at big shows are longhorns, some of them are still not going to accept their mediocre results.

I don't really understand why anyone thinks jd and team would be switching. It's obvious to me why jared would want to run a category 5 car. Their foundation is a copy of a bloomquist car from the same eara that jared ran his best in. The first car was literally a bloomquist car with a few tweaks. Why wouldn't jared want to try the closest thing he could get to what he had all of his success in

The whole chassis game goes in cycles. Rocket has the market saturated, along came the Rumley Longhorn and it’s been a 9-10 year migration from Rocket. Now Longhorn has the market saturated and teams are looking for a chassis to migrate to next. IMO if Wells and McDowell’s wanted to take on more business/customers, we could see some parity with teams shifting to Team Zero, XR1.2 and Infinity.

Also my opinion……Sheppard is an average driver outside of his Rocket1 years.

Would you say T-mac is an average driver outside of his years at Longhorn?
