There is nothing worse than someone airing dirty laundry on social media. Jeff’s wife commented on how they could have taken more vacations on the money they “spent on them.” This all could have been handled soo much better.

Has it come out who they were mad at? Anyone know?

supposedly bobby pierces mom hit hoker up for more $$$$ at the dome, it upset jeff and he made his post on Facebook that he made. Chris Simpson replied to hokers post that he tried to warn Jeff about the #32 5 years ago, whatever that means. I personally think people need called out loud & publicly in these situations, the spotlight is always cleansing 1 way or another. If it wasnt the #32 team than nobody else has said who it was instead. last i checked jeffs post FB post has 240+ comments...

Makes me wonder how does asking for more money end up with nothing? I don't think I would have my mom negotiate for me again.

This is just me trying to piece together the little that has been said so don't take it as 100% factual information. Sounds like something was said that was in reference to sponsorship costing more in the future. Jeff feels that shouldn't happen because he's been a long time sponsor and his loyalty to the team should count for something. I can only assume he has contributed a ton of money to Bobby over the years and felt that there was more to their relationship. He chose to take his checkbook elsewhere, which he has every right to do.

I could see wanting to charge more for sponsorship for a couple reasons, one being the cost to compete keeps rising and the fact that Bobby has been a top 2 driver the last couple years. Should Bobby be upset that Jeff doesn't feel his performance is worthy of more money? I'm sure Budweiser pays more every year for the same length ad during the super bowl despite the fact that they've been doing it for many years. I'm also certain it cost more to sponsor a sports team that is on top than it does for an average team.
I can only assume that this wasn't a formal negotiation, but rather a comment being made that wasn't well received.

The first problem is comparing sponsorship of a dirt latemodel team to nascar. Their is no national tv package that comes with the dirt latemodel i also doubt that any of the nascar teams are demanding more money as a result of running well. Getting more money and expecting more money are two completely different things. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Bp races 100% off sponsorship their is no car owner wether him our his mother realize it he needs his sponsors far more than most any other national team. Landers doesn't need a single sponsor it just helps offset what comes out of his pocket same goes for most other national teams. Hoker can probably write off nearly 100% of what he gives bp but that is irrelevant their are dozens of other tax vessels he could use to avoid giving that money to uncle Sam. All of those big sponsors and little sponsors matter far more when things aren't going well and while i truly do think bp is a generational talent and we're watching him make history just as many did with purvis, bloomquist and moyer. Their will be tough times ahead at some point

hard to make that assumption when you dont know how much the cost is to run a race team...cant think of anything that hasnt gone up in the last several years...asking a sponsor for a performance bump is no different than asking your boss for a raise...sometimes they say yes and sometimes they say no...either way you move on

#1 a business can only write off so much very minimal. #2 if said driver doesn't like what I offer to sponsor fine there's plenty other drivers that will GLADLY take that said Money #3 if said sponsor helped you out in the very beginning an now your doing well an want to crap on sponsor I'd be mad to that's not loyalty
