Im sure the super LM guys being at this race helps the fan attendance, didn’t hurt the car count, but it’s kinda disappointing to see them take most of the A Feature starting spots. Reminds me of the cup drivers running Busch races back when. Don’t feel good about it, but a necessary evil.

kind of defeats the whole purpose of a "crate", "limited" or whatever you want to call it to have a $100k to win. I'm guessing the amount of cheating going on in big $ races for the limited classes is insane.

I kinda feel the opposite. Having Super guys moonlight in these races helps draw more fans which is good for the event. And it gives the strictly Crate guys a chance to hone their skills against more experienced or faster drivers. I think that probably helps bring in cars honestly. It also helps give a little more "legitimacy" to the crate races. Plus, as stout as the Crate fields are these days, there's no gurantee that a Super guy who is nomrally a national touring driver is going to walk off with the win. I'm sure there are others who would disagree but I don't think it's a bad thing.

Be lot less than $100K for the reassembly. IDK what a builder would charge. Anyone? $1000? 1500? I mean it's a freaking Small Block Chevy that just ran 100 laps. Replace valve springs, maybe lap valves and button it back up.

While it might be simple to bolt it back together, the problem is whoever assembles it and seals is responsible for it being legal. So they actually have to check everything as its likely the parts was given back to the winner in a box, thus they had an opportunity to alter parts out of the view of the rebuilder (IE acid porting, regrind cam, or etc). So rebuilder has to verify everything is correct and within tolerances before he assembles and seals or he's responsible from then on out.

I have no idea. Not a complicated process if it hasn't been hurt. It's reassembly with couple extra steps.

Do crate engines use MLS head gaskets? If so be very minimal clean-up needed.
