So this place is taking over for the East Bay Winter Nationals.

Tell me about this place ? How does it compare to east bay? Any good in your opinion ?

I know nothing about the place.

Went there for Winternationals last year, the racing can be hit and miss. 1 and 2 is pretty normal, backstretch sweeps towards turn 3 so the cars position themselves for 3 as soon as they exit 2. Stands are ok, there's a small midway behind the stands. If you get there late youre parking by the farm next door.

There is a lot less seating than at East Bay. Parking can be a challenge. Race track shape is unique, and doesn’t allow for much passing. Track was hammer down fast when we were there. I’m glad we went, but not in a hurry to go back.

The Non-wing sprints race pretty good there. Wasn't this formerly known as "Bubba Raceway"?

Yes- the name has changed from Bubbas- not sure on the ownership. There were some partners and financial issues but Bubba is still involved.

Not much choice, East Bay is gone so hopefully this can turn into the 'next best thing' for a short track in the area. Never been but most I have talked to liked racing on the unique shape, time will tell if people accept or not. Clewiston is just to far down in my opinion (and I know nothing of the surface there) and I am not aware of any other smaller tracks in the center part of Florida.

Bubbas gets mixed reviews but personally i like it. Good facility, atmosphere ect. -we have been to all Lucas Races there and enjoy it and will be there this year as well.
Aero is not as much of a thing as it is on larger tracks. As far as that many nights in a row- track prep is a concern for me. I have seen fantastic racing there and also a locked down track. If the racing is good: coming off turn 4 is wild.

It's not as good as East Bay. It races way more narrow. Agree with everything everyone is saying here. It can be decent, but it has a lower ceiling than east Bay, for good racing.

Best thing we can do is support Ocala and hopefully it evolves as other tracks have (or not as some have)... Biggest thing is providing an atmosphere that people want to be at- and feel if they are not they missed out. It is not all about the racing (but the racing is the most important), hopefully community embraces and makes it a 'must' be at place like East Bay, time will tell.

I think the place is fine and he’s improving things for the bigger responsibilities. Wish they’d make a few adjustments to the shape of the track to allow for more side by side racing though. 1&2 they can go in there three wide but then the racing groove seems to narrow up out of 2 and down the back stretch and into 3. With the way it’s shaped it seems entering higher above someone in 3 can be very costly so most of the time, you have to get in line down the back stretch and they then fab back out going into 1.

Ocala was fine when it was a 1 day show between East Bay and Volusia. Did I enjoy a week in Tampa-yes yes yes. Do I want to spend a week in Ocala-no no h$ll no. Missing my first speed weeks in over 20 years because of East Bay withdrawl.
