Oh I get that's what they say now, but my bet is that if push comes to shove and one of the "elite" finds themselves on the outside at a pivotal moment, they'll have a special way of making sure they get them back in the hunt. The right thing to do is put that money in the point fund, not further rewarding those with the biggest bank accounts. No thank you. Believe what you want, but I've been around long enough to understand how things work. No different than Nascar giving advantages to "Factory" cars going thru tech, independents get one set of rules, elites get a whole different deal. Go back and listen to Red Farmer stories about how things have always been. Sure this isn't Nascar, but its the same plan. No matter how you slice it, it serves to further separate the haves from the have less, just like was stated by MasterbiltRacer, that money will most certainly go into making their team faster, its the nature of racing and humans.

Guess will all see soon enough how this turns out.

How can this not be a good thing for the people that we all need to keep the national series successful......CAR OWNERS.
Its a bigger point fund = Helps owners, drivers and crew
Gives the owners, who stick hunderds of thousands of dollars a year into their operations (After spending much more to start them) some value for doing so.

The regional/local racer will still be able to compete at the National races in their area.

You are spot on. This is great news. The regional teams will be competing for event prize money like they do now.

I don't blame them for wanting to protect their investments. I will not boycott their races because of it I know that. They have been putting on some good racing and actually in opinion better than the late models.
