I was in the there at LaSalle last night and the racing was pretty darn good once the show got going.

On a side note thought I did see on Facebook Chris Simpson posted this on his Facebook page.
”Racing for 25,000 running 75 laps and finished 5th. 3,000 dollars.”

Dolly Parton purses have been are an ongoing issue in dirt racing for a long time. Especially Late Models for some reason. Promoters all say because the winning amount is easy to advertise and sells tickets. Not sure how you get past that but that’s where we are.

They cry about the purses (unless they win) : but choose to race those races anyway.
They know the psyoyrs before they liad theur cars and leave home.

If it was a standard $5k to win show, Pierce, T Erb, Shirley & maybe a few others would most likely not have been there. Especially a week before the Dream. The money on top draws the top guys. Always has.

How was attendance for these shows? Hopefully the fans packed the speedway like they did for opening night of IL Speedweek.

Friday was a decent crowd but not as good Saturday. Saturday was really good but I'd say a little less than IL speedway. I was impressed with the turnout both night.

Great to hear. LaSalle deserves to be rewarded after re-opening. Glad the fans turned out.

Would echo Saturday was a pretty full house. Not all the way packed but a big crowd. They were parking cars near the edge of the cemetery boundary in the grass field. Good to see a solid track return. Definitely one of the fastest tracks in IL especially when it is prepped like it was Saturday.
