How many races does RTJ have to win to even it up or get close enough to be included in the convo?
There's something resembling Scott in Bobby and JD that I don't get with RTJ.
I'm not sure what it is but there is something. Look at how JD and Bobby have dominated Eldora in recent years. When it counts and when the money is there those two know how to turn up.
I think in ten years time, Bobby will be put in the conversation up with Scott. I don't think he quite has the personality to match Scott. Scott was larger than life in a lot of ways and at the end of the day, racing is not just a sport but also a form of entertainment. Scott was the ultimate entertainer. You were either a diehard fan or a hater. Weren't many in-between. If Bobby can loosen his lips a little bit and showcase more of a personality, I think he'll get into that conversation. His racing certainly won't be an issue. He's got age on his side. He does a fair bit himself as well.

IMO he was a pompous douchebag. Always late, always some sort of drama & conspiracy if things didn't go 100% his way. Nobody else I watched for years, except Butch McGill, was as much of a self-centered douche. I don't get the hero worship much like with Dale Sr. Same type of personality. Rubbins racin unless it's them on the losing end.
Was Jan 6th 2021 a tourist visit to the Capitol? That will tell me where you stand on seeing reality. Much like "poison shots"...

By the numbers, JD and Scott have more than double the Lucas starts than Ricky has and RTJ is at 50 Lucas Oil wins. Do the math.
That's if he stays in a Dlm like someone earlier said.8/13/16

On a National touring combined Lucas/WoO, Sheppy is on track to be king. 120 combined wins and he's pretty young.8/13/16

I think you misunderstand Scott. I didn't know him personally but I've watched just about every interview and article written about Scott you could imagine.Originally posted by KTMLew View Post

Like I've said, Scott was an eccentric. He did things HIS way. This is something we need to celebrate more in society. Every (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) driver in the pit area nowadays is the SAME.
Who cares if Scott was late? He worked his own hours. Ever heard the story of him excavating on his property at like 1 in the morning? He won races in the shop. He was a perfectionist. Scott showed up late and he'd whip their 1ucking a33.
With Scott it was always mind games. I recall a story about a Scott in the 80s or 90s and wind had got around that Scott was coming to race a particular track. He started a rumor that he was driving while coked up or something like that. It got around, got in the drivers heads and he showed up and whipped them. I also recall a story from Cody Sommer about how they were working really late and ended up running late to Eldora. Scott gave a peace sign as they pulled into the track as if nothing had happened. In reality they had just busted their a33. Mind games.
Scott knew how to play the game. He knew how to get in their heads. Nobody has ever done this as well as him.
There's a story from Marshall Green about he blew up two motors and he was sitting 4th in the Hav-A-Tampa series and he didn't have any left. Scott came over and asked what happened and offered up his car for the night so he could finish the series 4th. Scott then told him about a similar situation with Purvis not letting him borrow one of his cars in a similar situation and that he would never want anyone to feel like he did back then. Is that the act of a self-centered douche?
I also recall a story of an interviewer who spent a few hours with Scott and he said that he was very respectful and was constantly making sure he felt comfortable. Is that the act of a self-centered douche?
I've heard plenty of stories of what Scott was like away from the track and I think he's very different from what you think. On the other hand, I've heard Dale Sr. was an absolute (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word).

He has the name wrecky for a reason.
He won the DWTC in 2021 but what other big wins does have? I'm talking late models. Unless my memory escapes me that's really it.
EDIT: Without knowing too much about their situations, I'd be willing to bet Bobby and JD do a lot more work when it comes to setup etc.

Called Scott one Sunday morning (probably late 90's), he didn't know me from Adam but talked with me for 30 minutes about some car issues I was having. Didn't agree with some of the things he did in his life but never had a bad experience with the guy. Funny someone mentioned Earnhardt, used to buy lunch for anyone in the restaurant after his team won in the Busch series (always would go to the Little Spaghetti House on Monday). Working man but was not an ass (except maybe to his kids, I think he was just trying to make sure they were prepared to make it on their own), not the most talkative- he also had his own demons he dealt with.

Showing up to the Eldora million late and giving yourself 0 chance is not mind games.Originally posted by Tyy7777 View Post
