You just have to understand the effects it has, it is the go to adjustments for some while others do not touch it. All of the adjustments on the Longhorn sheet are there as recommendations; my point is that if you ignore any potential 'fix' for your car because 'nobody adjusts that' than you are possibly overlooking the very thing that can help your program.

Well said. If the builder never wanted it adjusted, would one have one hole at mounting locations. Same for the 5th coil slider & arm holes.Originally posted by EvelB7 View Post

Exactly. It's basically a roll center adjustment. An RC adjustment is far from fine tuning.Originally posted by Jking24 View Post
The problem with the jbar is it has polar opposite effects when on the gas or off the gas so moving it tends to help one area but effect another to much and upsets the balance to much to be a good at the track adjustment most of the time. Basically if your in the ball park generally moving the j bar knocks you out more than it helps.Modern Day Spec Wedge Racing

They HAVE made the J-bar mounts infinitely adjustable. Used to be the diameter of your thumb at a time. Not now. And I like the slider at top of 5th coil. I mean more adjusters HAS to be faster, amiright?Originally posted by MasterSbilt_Racer View Post
You have to put a bunch of holes in it for a buyer to be interested.

The original pre-Rumley Longhorns had way too much adjustment built into em and that’s large part of the reason they were terrible.

The answer is in the quote.....pre-Rumley. Give the man the credit he earned, turned that pile of twisted tubing into what it is today. Sure, it is not all on him but he took the corners off the square wheel! And I promise you, no adjustment is off the table in his playbook.Originally posted by Josh Bayko View PostThe original pre-Rumley Longhorns had way too much adjustment built into em and that’s large part of the reason they were terrible.

I don’t think Overton just ran out talent. He drove his ass off during the Pittsburgher. Sometimes things just don’t click between driver, crew chief, owner.
