I don’t care what is or what isn’t on the XR2. Just the fact that Mark Richards is the all time most hated man on 4M and now everyone on here thinks they know exactly what he’s done to get back to being competitive. If he keeps digging and getting a little better some of the people on this message board may secretly start wearing XR2 T-shirts.

Couple Notes:
1. I have been told previously that you can't mix the 3 types of mounting on a door plate by a Lucas oil official going thru tech so. . . shrugs.
2. I have no hate for Mark, very few work as hard as Mark. Was the door bar thing an oversite or got approval?, who knows but doesn't seem to follow the rule book. It wouldn't be the first time a manufacturer sold cars that were not up to the rule book (think GRT and their modifies several years back) or bloomers cars that had undersized door bars 1 3/8).
3. I have not verified yet, but I'm gonna say the reduction in weight includes the non shown door plate. A solid 1/8" plate that size weighs 16# alone and there are so many missing bars that the 20# to 30# seems about right for whats missing over the XR1

Billet birdcage, I’ve seen one of your GRT copies that you made back around 07 or 08 and you claimed that you “fixed” everything that was wrong with a GRT at the time. Tell everyone here on 4M how well it worked out. I’ll just go ahead and say that you probably don’t need to be worrying about what Mark Richards does, he’s not gonna call you for advice.Last edited by Flathead; 08-06-2025, 07:56 PM.

I’m sorry I thought we were talking about the difference between the 1.2 and the 2Originally posted by Flathead View PostI don’t care what is or what isn’t on the XR2. He probably could have figured things out faster if he made the call.Originally posted by Flathead View PostBillet birdcage, I’ve seen one of your GRT copies that you made back around 07 or 08 and you claimed that you “fixed” everything that was wrong with a GRT at the time. Had one of the cars spoken about here, technology was way ahead of the competition at that time.Originally posted by Flathead View PostBillet birdcage, I’ve seen one of your GRT copies that you made back around 07 or 08 and you claimed that you “fixed” everything that was wrong with a GRT at the time. As if a call from Mark would be in itself validating...Originally posted by Flathead View PostI stand corrected Profab00. I just got off the phone with Mark Richards and did confirm that he’s been collaborating with billetbirdcage on the design of the XR2, since he copied a GRT 20 years ago and it was far ahead of its time.
I mean Flathead has spoken already.Modern Day Spec Wedge Racing

Well, for starters, the pictures I have seen were not clear enough to to tell if what he's saying is true or not. If there are clear pictures, I agree....but post them so everyone can follow along.Originally posted by MasterSbilt_Racer View Post
What more is required for counting?
Bottom line is, it does not matter. Nobody running a series is getting disqualified over it anyway. It's one of those 'fix it before you bring it back' deals at best.

So are you saying a stiff car is better or a more flexible car is better? I've always felt like a flexible car is unpredictable and hard to zero in on a setup.Originally posted by MasterSbilt_Racer View PostI guess it's the easiest way to make it fast, if you can repeat the process. The cars are go karts functionally. It's totally wrong for a car with suspension.

I'll take a stiff car always. But, it's hard to mess up a flexible one. Changes have small effect.Originally posted by hardracer32 View Post
