im sure its quite a bit different but it does like the overall design certainly looks like the last blue front cars which won them a ton of money. Definitely diff from xr1v1Originally posted by KTMLew View PostUpper control arm mounts appears to be about 20 lbs lighter. The XR1 versions were huge. Has everyone quit making the 5th coil mount tube movable? Used to have it so could move right/left.

It's been mentioned that owners of previous versions can have their old chassis updated but not so sure they can get same result if major changes to the driver capsule? Can do suspension mounts but how do you determine exactly where they go if main structure has changed? I understand how jigs work.Originally posted by bleedblue55 View PostWonder how many teams are running or getting an XR-2 besides Shepp

They basically took an xr1 and made the front and rear clips have less torsional stiffness with respect to the c0ckpit area. Stiff clips tied together by a flexible middle.Modern Day Spec Wedge Racing

Exactly what I was getting at, flex or torsional stiffness being a big component in the modern DLM design.Originally posted by MasterSbilt_Racer View PostThey basically took an xr1 and made the front and rear clips have less torsional stiffness with respect to the c0ckpit area. I guess it's the easiest way to make it fast, if you can repeat the process. The cars are go karts functionally. It's totally wrong for a car with suspension.Modern Day Spec Wedge Racing

Big go-kart is what I've said for 20 some years. I. Don't. Like. It. It's followed NASCAR.Originally posted by MasterSbilt_Racer View PostI guess it's the easiest way to make it fast, if you can repeat the process. The cars are go karts functionally. It's totally wrong for a car with suspension.
