The main differences in the original xr-1 were The material and the manner in witch the chassis was designed structurally they were also docol vs chromoly and a much more ridged design compared to the blu grey stuff. Also xrs were the first generation rockets to have bolt on pickup points. As far as suspension goes the front suspension was slightly different but very similar to the blue grey. The rear stuff was virtually unchanged . No xr-1 were not the first rockets to be underslung. They were underslung somewhere in the early to mid 2000s but they were bolt in and some guys ran both some ran 1 some ran none lol.

I don’t care what is or what isn’t on the XR2. Just the fact that Mark Richards is the all time most hated man on 4M and now everyone on here thinks they know exactly what he’s done to get back to being competitive. If he keeps digging and getting a little better some of the people on this message board may secretly start wearing XR2 T-shirts.

I personally don't hate Mark Richards, I don't like how he did business in the past with some of my associates, but I don't hate him. I will NOT ever wear a Rocket T-shirt or run a Rocket chassis, but my reason isn't rooted in hate, it is a personal preference and decision. If it makes any difference I'll never run an LH either, mainly because they are both so popular and being trendy or part of the norm makes my skin crawl. I'd rather run mid pack or worse using something I built or a lessor known chassis than join in with the "click". I am glad that rocket is regaining ground on LH for no other reason than to reestablish some measure of parity or choice at the top of the sport. I miss the days when any number of cars could win, but our society has different values these days than uniqueness or individuality. Best of luck to Mark R and team.

Couple Notes:

1. I have been told previously that you can't mix the 3 types of mounting on a door plate by a Lucas oil official going thru tech so. . . shrugs.

2. I have no hate for Mark, very few work as hard as Mark. Was the door bar thing an oversite or got approval?, who knows but doesn't seem to follow the rule book. It wouldn't be the first time a manufacturer sold cars that were not up to the rule book (think GRT and their modifies several years back) or bloomers cars that had undersized door bars 1 3/8).

3. I have not verified yet, but I'm gonna say the reduction in weight includes the non shown door plate. A solid 1/8" plate that size weighs 16# alone and there are so many missing bars that the 20# to 30# seems about right for whats missing over the XR1

I get what your saying. I'd like to see what you did with the GRT's mentioned by another poster, you helped me with a Barry Wright I use to have, back in the day.
