They angled the k rails in more this year and it has made a huge difference. Their has been minimal down time for fence repairs. As for the racing I've honestly seen some pretty good racing. And sadly more than most woo or lucas shows

This show will never equal chili bowl if they wanted it too they would have too not limit entries an run all week but this show is way too slow for that to happen.

It's an event more than it is a race. Some like it and some don't.

This is exactly right, and it illustrates what our culture is interested in. Quality of racing only appeals to the die hard fans. The fans that know a weekly race at their local track or a good regional tour will probably feature more competitive racing than any of the major events or national touring series. Most people today want to attend events, and that is true across all forms of entertainment right now. The biggest events don’t necessarily provide the best quality of entertainment or the best product for the consumer. Most casual fans like to be able to post a bunch of pictures on social media showing where they were and who they were there with. Social media has driven many people to value style over substance. This event is an opportunity for race teams to bankroll their operation from merchandise sales because the audience is hungry to spend more money. I don’t understand why any of the drivers and crews get upset about the driving style and moves made by their competitors. It’s a sh*t show, and you know that when you register to race. Just like fans should know this is just an event built around a race that is nothing more than an exhibition. The promoter has done an outstanding job building it to become what it is, but if you’re looking for a good race, this event isn’t where you are likely to find one.

My guess on the reason they dragged it out is because of quality air check. As last year alot of people got sick from the fumes etc and sure some complained. That's the main reason my group didn't go back this year.

The dome is what it is. It's a fun event that is more show than go. I've gone a few times & enjoyed it. Watched quite a bit on Flo this weekend. Unless they are able to build the track a month out & let the dirt settle it will never not get super rough on Saturday.

At the Chili Bowl, they have already started building the track (or will be this week) for a race that doesn't take place until mid January. They also have the Tulsa Shootout around New Year's for micros. The track is built 2 weeks out from that event, gets raced on a bunch over 4 days & then sits for another week plus before the Chili Bowl rolls in. This allows the surface to be really hard packed & able to withstand all the racing without turning into a corn field.

The dome could stand to have a longer feature on Saturday so that it isn't just a front row winner. Pierce may have led a 100 lap feature as well but once he drew the pole, the deal is basically done. Longer race allows for more comers & goers as well as more chance for the lead cars to find trouble. Maybe go 75 laps & 40 for the mods.
