I was searching and saw that the Hillbilly 100 will be at Elkins Raceway in West Virginia in 2026 and that it will be unsanctioned and it will be held on a Saturday. Carl Short has asked Flo about covering the event in order to help pay the purse if not it will be $20,000 to win and $1,000 to start. Is any of this true?

It was on the OWNERS WIFES FACEBOOK about 1 month ago and said HILLBILLY 100 ELKINS SPEEDWAY 2026? Carl Short signed it and said MAYBE. Then heard it would be $20,000 to win and $1,000 to start but dont know.

Dropping useless sanction would be best choice ever no matter where run. Unsanctioned great payday and prestige will prevail

Jim11h The only thing that Sanctions get you is the top 10 in points for that series is guaranteed to show up and thats it. I doubt you will see many Lucas guys or WOO Guys come in since it will be Unsanctioned because they will head to Eldora to tune up for the World 100. But you will see alot of the regional guys from West Virginia and North Carolina go there to race. When it was in Tyler County Sanctioning meant they were able to sell to the fans that Davenport would be there and others now they for sure wont be racing it.

Thats exactly it, Lucas brought 15 cars and hefty price tag but if track smart they take that Lucas money and put thru field and build a great paying event. Guess what, money talks and series drivers will show and if format done correctly the racing will be better. World and dream unsanctioned and who shows there??

$20k to win is a weekly series race basically. This race has gone down hill over the yrs. It will get reginal cars and thats it.
