A few of them glorified Mars shows pay more than any Summernationals show ever has.

One thing hurting car counts is guys like Shirley, Erb, Shepp, Pierce, Alberson, running Nationally. If you were to bring those guys back along with Unzicker, Babb, Engilsh and Feger, youd have that stout lineup again. Times change. Guys move on.

Blame it in the younger generation, cell phones and video games. Its a different world out there nowadays.

Another things to consider is that the first weekend there was a high dollar race in Ohio and the following 2 weekends both national series have ran.

I always buy DV after the dream through the PDC, mainly for the hell tour races. That has not worked out this year 😂

At least the sprints and outlaw late models have gotten to race a good bit.

Congrats Tanner English. Maybe the most consistent, trouble free Hell Tour run I've seen in quite some time. Impressive.

Now that Feger drops off 1 guy is going to contest the entire tour. Used to be at least a handful that would see it thru to the end. TBH it seems to have gotten a bit bloated. There is a bit of fat still to cut out IMO. Chop a week off of it & then maybe it gets back to a few more guys following the full tour.

Ray Cook manages to get 6-8 drivers to follow his Southern Nationals and it's just 2 weeks long. Maybe a shorter schedule is the way to go in this day and time.

I won't presume to know all the answers but they could cut out a week and not miss any of the key tracks. A few of the places they go to appear to have less than adequate facilities (Camden TN as an example with the pit opening in middle of turn 3) and/or less than adequate car count. Center the tour around the Illinois hotbeds & some of the strong border tracks (Pevely, Davenport, Burlington, etc). Maybe grab a couple of the strong outliers like Springfield MO & then do this week at the end of Michigan & Ohio as those tracks all draw strong. Get around 21 shows would be plenty & would still be a grind.

Problem is, their are a lot of regional guys that run a portion of the schedule but the Illinois guys are not going to drive to Michigan and Ohio and same goes for those Michigan/Ohio guys, they arnt gonna travel to Illinois.
They still did well considdering. I saw car counts occasionally around 28-30 on some weekday shows. Your last Lucas Oil race couldn't pull 30 cars on a Saturday night.
