    Batesville: tires and rocks?

Last two Topless race weekends have had issues. has the track surface always been this way or is it something new?

According to DOD article: the track was resurfaced this year??
Apparently it wasn’t sifted for rocks?

That was a horror of a track. Wouldn't have wanted to be the guy handling complaints at the Hoosier truck afterwards. Maybe Lucas should consider the Mickey Thompson tires the Baja trucks use. Lots of them at the start of the Reno-Las Vegas off roader this weekend.

Batesville has been that way as long as I know with my first visit there in the mid 90’s. The track has a lot of very tiny rocks in the surface. The resurfacing was done with dirt from the infield which is why there is a pond in the infield now. It smooths out and becomes less abrasive the more laps they run on it. It does seem to be worse after resurfacing. I guess we will see tonight. 🤷‍♂️

The 4 compound is almost a sure sellout for tonight's show. If they can't get 25 laps on tires last night the tire sales could probably pay the purse tonight.

The hundred lapper may be time consuming with back to back cautions.

I watched on Flo but missed the heats, were flats an issue in the heats also?

Davenport is the only one I recall that had a flat in the heats. Hopefully the feature is good, tires usually come into play at Batesville with tire wear. Not for the lack of effort from the track prep crew or series officials.

What a fantastic win last night! Great rebound from last week. Mechanical issue at the wrong time. He seems like a personable and humble guy!

So very happy to see Dan Ebert get a win in the Lucas Oil series and a very big one at that with the Topless. I've mentioned before that he is really one of the nicest guys you'll meet and if you're at one of these events you should. He's a really good dude who worked very hard to get where he is and their program keeps improving. Been following his racing since back in USMTS and he's a good clean racer.

Dillon Mc Cowan, Max Blair, Josh Rice, and Dan Ebert. Refreshing results on the Lucas tour.
Beats the heck out of Moran, Shep, Oneal, and rtj.
                              Hope it continues.
