    That is a GREAT thing, dont get me wrong. But one consequence of it is that more guys drive with a reckless abandon & disregard for their fellow competitor than ever before. It has hit all forms of racing. 30/40 years ago driving like that had the possibility of life ending or life altering consequences so guys were a bit more diligent. They'd been to funerals for other drivers, visited other drivers in the hospital after bad crashes, etc & that informed how they drove. Of course wrecks still happened & some guys still crossed the line but it was far less frequent than it is these days.
    Yes, racing use to be dangerous and sex was safe....Spot on, for all the good it has allowed some to learn the sport 'the hard way' and still continue; goes right along with all of society and 'warning' labels in my book.
