I don't think the tire Doctoring goes on as much as everyone thinks, I think it's talked about by the fans looking for a excuse as to why there idols flat got out ran. also the amount of time and effort that goes into prepping tires is not worth the hassle for the little performance gain, and with all the other compound options in late models. I'm pretty sure that tire doctoring really only helps the USMTS mod series because they all run the same tire that is hard as a brick and glazes over after the first 10 laps. There's a lot better options and a lot less work for late models to cheat, using a tire rotisserie stinks and labor intensive

You def get it. Remember this, most posters on here are keyboard racers. They wouldn't know where to begin treating tires.

As to having all these compounds, they only had 2 at the World: LM20,40....which makes it all the worthwhile to treat them. Treating tires correctly improves traction and reduces wear when done correctly.

Like I said in another thread Rumley has engineered a new and improved formula thats why they were one of the last to get there they had to doctor enuf up for the wkend lol like I asked once before how does a regional driver become a superstar(in sum eyes) overnite?

I just think tire doping should be made legal. Do whatever the he*l you want to the tires as long as they pass a durometer test. It takes all the guesswork and innuendo out of the sport. It would also help the small budget teams way more than it would help the big budget teams.

But it never will be legal. It ain't about the carcinogens or any of that stuff. It's about the tire companies whining that they won't sell nearly as many tires.

Good post Josh!.......Theres something wrong if you're allowed to spend: $45,000 for a complete roller, $50,000 plus for an engine, $7500 for shocks....but....you CAN"T spend $200 for a gallon of prep to improve the total traction capabilities of your racecar. Yet, it improves the racing and reduces tire costs for the local racers!.....SMH

Exactly the same way a no name regional guy comes from Bakersfield California to his first ever world in the 80s and wins it and immediately puts everybody else on notice.

The Rumley Team had Hauler problem on the way there. I asked my self and it was stated over the ELDORA PA system on Thursday evening during Qualifying.
