Hope they keep the track that wet all week long. When I was there in 2014 the racing was good 3 of the 6 nights and those were the nights the track was hammer down. The track is one groove on the bottom when it's slick.

True statement about 2014, GEAR_HEAD.
2014 was the worst year they had for track prep. The reason for it? The NDRL did the track prep that year. I will never forget seeing the driver of the water truck holding a GARDEN HOSE out the window (while driving the water truck) to put water down! I can remember reading later that year more fans being frustrated with the track prep the NDRL was doing at other places that year. That's unfortunate to, because there have been drivers (and probably fan too) who have not been back to Tucson since. The staff at USA really tries to stay on top of he track, as you will see the water truck and tractor on the track during each night when there is a break in the action. I really doubt you'll see hammer down conditions, as USA is VERY hard on equipment when it is. (see Moyer and Moyer Jr's video from today where they don't lift.) I like it when it is slick top-bottom. Last year there was a night when the lap times were quicker during the later parts of the feature than they had been all night.

Turned it on, bummer, no action yet. I have never purchased a PPV, and don't really plan to during this event. But, I do appreciate DoD making tonight's practice viewable for free. I am hoping to use it as a test to see if perhaps I can talk myself into shelling out the cash tomorrow night.
