Accidently ran a Lucas RR instead of a UMP RR.

Tire rules were 20 or 40 on RR. He had a 30. Officials caught it going over the scales.

"15.11.1 Tires UMP DIRTcar Weekly Racing & Special Event Rules A.) Only the Hoosier LM20, LM30S and LM40 tires will be permitted for competition. The weekly sanctioned track has the option to choose from any of the selected tire compounds." Eldora selected LM 20/40.This is posted on the ALMS website. 01/03/06s not mentioned anywhere. Somebody made the conscious decision to run a non-conforming tire. Come on Devin, I still like you as a great competitor and an even better person. Just admit the mistake, man up, and don't try to shift the issue to accidently and it is exactly the same tire.

Pretty sure of ya read that....he did admit he messed up. Probably left that tire at the shop and just took the chance, but just didn't realize it til it was main time. I'd say the just took the chance of getting caught, can't blame him there.

He probably shouldn't have even made it on the race track. They should check that before any car hits the track.

I'm just a little surprised no one else cought it before the officials did wether it be there crew or someone elses ...... mabe they didn't stage the cars that long??

Honestly, there was no advantage. Mistake or not. It is the same rubber and sidewall construction.

now come on you know Morans knows what tires run at Eldora and that's not the teamn he first time they got caught there with the wrong bu right tirs it happen to Donnie at the world one yeaet its not r and how is that lining a different pocket its not lke he was running a Good year like they said it was a mistake on their part , I saw results of race this weekend that they said the team have the wrong valve springs (modified) but they don't mention it n the rule book plus they had a whole year to comply to the the new rules

Considering he's a Lucas regular, I could see how it was an honest mistake. Grabbed a tire with the correct stagger and throw it on the car.

Exactly Josh. Pretty easy to make that mistake, sucks for Devin, but lesson learned.

Florence for instance, does not. You can run either. It comes down to which rules you run under. So, basically who gets the mark up money for their points fund.
