the problem with local and regional racing is that there is always 2 or 3 that can afford the habit and if you cant u cant compete this is why 6-10 so called supers show up for a local sat. nite and many regional shows not having full fields.and your beating a dead horse any more tring to compete without the 40000 engines or 1300 apiece shocks and 40000 cars, 8000 data acquisition engineer, 165 x 40 tires, and you can argue that this is not the problem ,but the Saturday nite race tracks are showing the results.

Yes and some are still struggling with cost. Racing just cost money and it's all about how much are you willing to spend until you throw in the red flag and say enough is enough.

The only way people are going to really make money is to be like Josh/Mark Richards or Bloomquist or Jonathan Davenport. They all have the right idea.

Davenport/Rumley make their own motors, etc. so their $50k motor probably only costs them $15k. That is a BIG help. Then when refresh time comes around they pay a fraction of the cost.

Richards/Bloomquist use the racing as advertisement for their chassis. Bloomquist not so much because he does not sell a ton either way, but Richards is probably slightly profitable from racing, but all his success translates to units sold back in WV.

You either need to make your own stuff for personal use, or find something you can make to sell to others so that you can afford to pay someone else to buy the motor, etc.

make no mistake,the top their guys are getting sponsorship,hell until bloomer started to get help,he was thinking "how the hell am i going to keep going",while I'm not saying your going to make money,but there is a difference between losing some money and losing the farm

it was a pleasure to watch Audie and James race but racing for 2k on a Saturday night is for the love of the sport. but today it makes it very difficult with the expense you have in these cars now if u raise winnings to 5k yes a few more would show up.

Tracks are wanting to ease people into watching Crates instead of late models, yet use the late models as their cash cow fro big events from the traveling series.

If not they would tackle the expense issues.

I for one will not go to tracks that do not offer late models. 525 horsepower in late model chassis is not the answer.

Photo finish last night in the Crate division feature at Florence Speedway; very exciting race to watch with a lot of side-by-side action in the closing laps. Much better than one dominant Super Late Model winning by a half of a lap or a Super Late train race with no passing.

Some of time around my area which is North ga a crate car has the fastest lap all night especially more towards the middle of summer I've seen on 4 occasions already this early in the year that being the case. 99% ppl could not tell a difference between a crate steel head or open motor If there lap times are similar and the racing is side by side. A few weeks ago a 604 crate set fast time for crates and guess what he was 3 tenths faster than the super pole which was Ronnie Johnson. There was also a 602 that turned the 4th fastest lap all night. Super field wasn't a field filler either very good regional talent there 3k or 4k to win
