I think you might be missing the point, my brother is a "big time" tournament bass fisher with all the fancy stuff, the last two events, two older gentlemen showed up with, like bob said, an old 3500 dollar rig and handed him and the rest their azz. Now you show up at the race track with a 15 year old late model and a wore out 350 and you have absolutely no chance.....

But,

If you are capable of doing some fab work and upgrade that worn out 350 to a 406 with 18 degree heads, now you can win some shows. Not Lucas or WoO, but you can win.

I agree, that's what I do , BUT, I feel im a dyeing breed. My father was a great, old school machinist, he left me some old, but good equipment and some priceless knowledge , problem is, I cant get any of these young ones interested , if they cant do it on a key board , there not interested.......

Don't know when you seen Florence Qualify crates but it wasn't this year or last year Clayton

You are right BIG MAC, Opening night I was watching the scoreboard times in practice and using my cell phone to time some cars in both classes. They did not qualify the Crates.
