Oiled are able to be cleaned and do collect dirt better, however horsepower wise hard to beat a good old paper filter. Biggest thing with the Walker is do not 'over oil' them, and you will know when you do. Key with both is proper care; for the paper that means replacing very often (sometimes twice a night in the south)...Do know a few guys who qualify with paper and switch for racing, especially at big dollar crate shows. Probably just as important as the filter is to get the correct base/top for your application...

I know a few who are running the non-oiled (had one brought to the dyno that car was down on power- filter just needed cleaning). The replacement time is shorter for the non-oiled so it will cost a little more to run over the long run. Less mess but at least with the oiled version you can control how much (and how fast it 'fills up) based on where you are racing. Limited late model type engine in the south, I will stay with the oiled for now. Less dusty area of the country the dry filter probably would be great.Originally posted by Jking24 View Post
