Just grab a set of gen 1 ohlins, Integra, or equivalent, and send to a reputable builder. You will be more than fine.

There is no magic shock, though many would tell you different. Its all a question of the dampening curve and any builder worth his salt can make 1 brand mimic another shocks curve. The next part is understanding adjustments and when to do what for the outcome you desire.
