    double adjustable shocks

Going from mods to run regional Late Models in the midwest next year, the shock price difference blows me away. What is the huge performance advantage going from a $400 shock to a $1000-$1200 shock?

Just grab a set of gen 1 ohlins, Integra, or equivalent, and send to a reputable builder. You will be more than fine.

I've got a full set of ohlin 1st gen shocks that are still in perfect working order, I actually won the last race I ran them last year, and chassis builder talked me into bilsteins. I'd sell them for 1200 shipped. Shoot me a private message and I'll send you my cell number to send photos.

There is no magic shock, though many would tell you different. Its all a question of the dampening curve and any builder worth his salt can make 1 brand mimic another shocks curve. The next part is understanding adjustments and when to do what for the outcome you desire.
