I have a 99 rocket can't get the push out in the middle of turn . Running 650 lf 375 rf and 175 lr 225 RR springs track is always dry slick and it never has any RR drive we tried a 500 lf 400rf and 200lr 225rr this past weekend and car was way loose at entry any suggestions thanks

push on throttle or off? (guessing on) also guessing 4-bar?
MIDDLE CORNER
(on throttle)
SHOCK ADJUSTMENTS
• Increase rebound front shocks
CHASSIS ADJUSTMENTS
• Decrease wedge
• Drop left top 4-link rod
on chassis
• Raise right top 4-link rod
on chassis
• Stiffen RR spring (can also tighten off
throttle handling)

Yes it is on the throttle I'm running bars opposite than that and about 200lb of lr bite I've been told to scale with bars in neutral but last week was informed do not do that scale where I'm going to start at in racing for the night

Is this car set up with the LR behind or is the LR shock still in front?
Those cars of that time frame were notorious for not wanting to turn in the center. The first thing that jumps out at me is the amount of wedge. What kind of track are you running on?
Are you running the standard length bars on the car or are you running the short LRU?
Where you scale your car at as far as bars go isnt really significant (unless you go to comparing notes with another racer or go to get help from your chassis builder) what matters is doing it the same way each time.Last edited by talclipse; 06-14-2012, 09:58 AM.

I'm running the lr shock behind and bars are stock length. I'm running a dry slick rubber down track. With the soft 175 lr spring and 225 RR and 375 5th coil from middle off the car was over steered to the right

Thanks didn't get a set up book so that helps . Just been going off what we have been reading . Lots of notes with bad results . We went from a push entering last year to the middle push this's year

I agree with matt49 I would try to soften your lf spring to around a 500 550 and lower your wedge to around a 100-125 and also stiffen your lr spring to around a 225. scaling your your car with the bars in neutral is a good idea but won't make or break you. You mentioned your track is dry slick rubbered down, to me those are 2 way different setups, rubbered down you need to be more free, dry slick you need to be tighter. In my experience, I never really noticed a loose in condition with higher wedge until it was extremely high like yours is, and then it was crazy loose entering, I think thats your main problem, more wedge doesn't necessarily mean more traction. Just my 2 cents.

2 cents goes along way and thanks looks like a common answer on the bite and bar locations. Also, looks like a spring or 2 to adjust even after some reading a 5th coil adjust maybe necessary

Just don't change everything at once or you'll never know what really did the trick. Change one thing at a time until you know what the various adjustments do to your car. There are many common/general answers (e.g. moving this bar does this or softening that spring does that) but different cars will behave more or less drastically than others.

also remember, that static wedge and lr springs aren't going to do much to on throttle mid corner, as you'll be on the bars and mostly off the spring by then. so it may have some effect, but not much in the grand scheme. you'd have more effect making changes elsewhere.
That being said, it's good to have your weights (bite/cross) set correctly according to standards, as that makes sure your RF is correct which does effect your dynamic on throttle.
