My thinking is you should allow the rear end to rotate or decrease pinion angle when you have the LR spring mounted in front of the housing. I agree pinion angle does not equal drive, it merely keeps the drive shaft in the tranny. However, as soon as you move that LR spring ahead of the axle housing 3" like was stated earlier, the rotation of the rear end housing, or decrease in pinion angle creates drive on the LR tire. This only works if the LR spring is ahead of the housing, and assuming that the mount he was talking about is the clamp on type that Modifieds use. I am not sure if moving it ahead like IMCA allows gains you much.

2012 will be my first year in a Stock Car after 15 years in Mods and Late Models. I appreciate all the tech stuff you guys put on here hopefully I can use some of it to be fast.

if it was a 3 link with a torque absorbing device for the upper link, and hiem mounted lower links mounted at different angles, could it rotate then?

We moved my spring pocket on the left ahead of the axle about 2 inches. It looks bad when it's sitting on the ground, like the spring will fly out because it's so crooked, but it doesn't. It helped my car A LOT...I would suggest trying it. I think I may even try to move it further ahead. It produces a nut-cracker like affect, definitely turned in the corner better.
