Jeff, you and I both have completely different ways of thinking. Even when we agree on something we both have different ways of coming to that conclusion. Problem is on forums, you can't tell how serious/sarcastic someone is unlike face to face. You still planning on running I-80 weekly next year?

stock car driver: I have not been here for a while and see your still defending the fact that there is no advantages being given to the Mods using the Crate Engines in IMCA. I also see that someone you might even call a friend is telling you that something is not fair with the Crates neither. And you said you had Text chats with Brett Root. Stop and think Jeff, There was a guy a few years ago that convinced people he was the way, what he said was the only answer to all the problems.....his name was Rev. Jim Jones. He brain washed many people into thinking his way was the only way, well time showed he was wrong and he took many innocent people with him. And what I'm saying is, IF THERE WAS NO ADVANTAGE BEING GIVEN TO THE CRATE GUYS THEY WOULD NOT BE RUNNING THEM. THE REASON THEY ARE RUNNING THEM IS BECAUSE THEY CANT COMPETE WITH AN OPEN ENGINE WITH THE ADVANTAGES GIVEN. THE GUYS WHO RUN IN THE FRONT IN IMCA ARE NOT WORRIED ABOUT HOW MUCH MONEY THERE GOING TO SPEND AND YOU KNOW THAT IS A KNOWN FACT......BUT I ALSO KNOW YOU WILL TELL ME I'M WRONG ABOUT THAT TOO. You better look at what's going on and what's being done and stop believing everything Brett Root says is gospel. AND NOW SOME OF THE DEALERS SELLING THE CRATE ENGINES ARE BREAKING THEM IN BEFORE YOU BUY ONE. YEA KEEP TELLING ME THERE ALL THE SAME. KEEP CONVINCING YOURSELF OF THAT, Remember I said one time that Jason F. showed me how to get around a whistler. And now the guys here say that IMCA is not Teching like they should.....WOW, Well why have rules then? But its OK they will catch it all at the Super Nats........LOL, OH NO THEY WONT, I KNOW THAT FOR A FACT.....LMAO....HAHAHAHAHA. I know if they don't tear a Crate apart.....they will not catch it....there not smart enough....KNOWN FACT.. Jeff just give up, your fighting a fight you cant win, Brett might but only because he has the money to do so. So keep feeding him every year and keep believing everything he says is correct, someday you will learn.

        Thumbs up!
When it seems all eyes are on you when you're wearing a new pair of jeans you wonder why everyone thinks you look so darn good in them. When taking them off you notice the sticker still on the pant leg.

Anyone else on here actually have a IMCA license and get the IMCA paper and read it?

115 Modified championships won with a OPEN engine out of 124... Brett is so certain people who are whining cant do the math he even states after stating the total and non crate that... NINE were won with the crate.

Jeff, what is the criteria for winning the track championship with an open? Racing the whole year with an open? Starting with open and ending with crate? Starting with crate and finishing with open?

I know Stoa was pretty pissed he lost the engine builder of the year to Karls when quite a few of Karls guys ended the year in crates. Looks like your buddy Sobbing is shopping around now.

Got our crate this week and will start dynoing here in the near future.

Don't know, I would guess youll need to ask Brett for clarification if it matters. I know the chassis mfg awards are based on actual finishes I would suspect engine building stuff is also.

Gould ran open 99 percent of the time, he bought two crates said they sucked after one night each and sold them. Abelson ran open to win his two track titles those are the only other guys I know much about. jimmy won boone with his open but ran crate elsewhere.

I know what JS is up to, Im the one who sent the texts back and forth so they could get together on the phone Friday night.

                  From IMCA.com

VINTON, Iowa – Engine parity along with body issues are addressed in IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified rules for 2014.

Maximum height for rear spoilers on Modifieds powered by a crate engine was reduced from three inches to two.

“We were reluctant to make any changes on the fly or any drastic changes in 2013,” IMCA Vice President of Operations Brett Root emphasized. “That is how we decided to make the small reduction in the spoiler height. It’s inexpensive and easy to fix. It was the most logical step for us to take.”

“With all that being said,” he continued, “if we experience a parity issue between the crate and claim engine options and if there is a need to do so, we reserve the right to further adjust during the racing season in 2014.”

Rules for IMCA’s largest division are published in this month’s newsletter. They’ll be posted on the IMCA website in early January.

“Parity between the two engine options continues to be extremely important to IMCA. The crate motor is not going to make any more horsepower,” said Root. “We are matching the known variables with the crate motor with the unknown and changing racer-to-racer variables regarding the claim option.”

Clarifications to body rules specify that the nose extend no higher than the front of the hood; that the hood must cover the radiator; no complete car covers are allowed, while rear tail covers are permitted only in the personal pit area; and solid sail panels are required.

All shocks must completely collapse at any time and no suspension stops of any kind are allowed.

Also clarified was the rule stating no adjustable throttle bore or sleeve-type carburetor spacers can be used.

2014 procedures, which include the higher penalties for attempting to cheat the crate engine seal, will also be posted on the IMCA website early next month.

No change will be made in the bonus point system employed in 2013.

“This year, we had some of the tightest national points battles in years,” Root noted. “It’s clear the bonus point system is not something that needs to be messed with.”
