NASCAR Will Disqualify Winners For Failing Postrace Inspection At Track

Don't know if this is a good or bad thing. As arbitrary as NASCAR has been over the years some teams may not get as fair of a shake as some others. Judgement calls by NASCAR have been proven to be slanted according to who's on the receiving end of an unfavorable call. The Ricky Rudd/Davey Allison deal at Sears Point back in '90 or '91 as compared to the Earnhardt/Labonte deal at Bristol in August of '99 is just one example. The pit road speeding penalty that wasn't called on the eventual winner during his final pit stop in the closing stages of the '98 Daytona 500 is another. There are several more involving the #3 car back in the day but those two incidents make the case. Not sure if anyone has NASCAR in their pocket like the #3 did back in those days but given all of those incidents we know what NASCAR is capable of.

Here's a link to an article covering this development.

The Rickey Rudd/Davey Allison deal was a double edge sword for me because I was a fan of both but, Rudd got screwed on that deal that's for sure.

I was too, Kid. However, it smacked of some vendetta against Ricky. Ricky was/is a tough, no BS king of guy that took crap from no one, not arnhead, not anybody, and that had a tendency to rub the right people the wrong way. He feared and was intimidated by no one. Ask Jeff Gordon about ol' Rooster! LOL! Ricky was NASCAR's version of Jack Hewitt!! That's what I liked about the guy.

Some would ask why dredge up stuff that is almost 30 years old and try to use it as a viable analogy? Reason being, the biased, arbitrary rulings and overlook's that went on back in that day and time firmly establish a pattern that exists in some form to this day. Although, nobody has NASCAR in their pocket today like arnhead and Childress did! Anytime NASCAR has relied on judgement calls they have enforced them in a overtly arbitrary way and thumbed their collective noses at those who would question or denounce the biased ruling's.

No more proof than the fact that Arnheads later wins were adding up from all of restrictor plate tracks. Anyone that is familiar with the sport knows that that is where it is easiest to rig the outcome in an event.

Normally I would agree 100% if it was anyone but NASCAR, dd. But given NASCAR's past record I'm afraid if a winner is not compatible with their agenda judgement calls could come into play and we all know how that stuff has gone in the past.

Hate to sound political but its about how liberals are everywhere. Ever since Bill France(s) were replaced.. its been down hill. Like Ive said the new points system is like participation trophies in my book.

Krooser, the rules have been enforced with penalties before now. However, the degree of enforcement and the severity of the penalties was contingent upon who the alleged perpetrator was. Even though NASCAR is somewhat of an afterthought to us these days I hope arbitrary enforcement won't be the case going forward.
