Paul Menard what a joke

This is what you get when you buy your way to a drivers job. Wipes out a pretty darn good 500 race. He should not be in a car. I can’t understand what the Wood brothers were thinking besides the Menard money I suppose. Total joke.

All I can say is bye bye plate racing which is the biggest joke of all. Money does keep Menard in Cup and I understand why the Wood Bros would put him in the car. It is a shame, but that is the way it is.

I watch Daytona because we're in the Daytona Beach area every year visiting family and going to the dirt track events in Ocala and De Leon Springs. We attended all the events of Speedweeks at DIS for 20 years or more from the late 80's through the late 2000's which also heightens our interest to some extent. If not for that we'd pay little or no attention because it's all a bore up until the last 5 laps.

All that said, the highlight of the whole week was when Jimmy dumped pee wee jr.! The second biggest highlight of the week was seeing pee wee whine about it! LOL!

As far as Menard goes, he'll have a ride until daddy no longer is willing to pony up the cash. It ain't right but it's the way of modern big time racing. What's refreshing is once in a while to see guys like Larson and Bell get to the big money on talent and guts. It's rare these days.

Every time I glanced at the screen young Kyle Larson was being wrecked and still he survived the carnage. I think he should be sponsored by TIMEX because he takes a licking and keeps on ticking !

I hope the Woods got a goodly chunk from old man Menard after yesterday's 500 when his boy triggered the biggest crash of the day when he turned Matt DiBenedetto.

Matt is a local boy from Grass Valley, CA and is well thought of here. Runs for a very low buck team that didn't even have one car ready for Daytona 2 weeks ago and then ran up front all day until a few laps from the end when all he!! broke loose.

For a small northern CA town of 12,000 we've got a pretty good roster of drivers; DiBenedetto, WoO star Brad Sweet, Indy 500 winner Alexander Rossi, Kyle Larson, who gets an attaboy for hanging in there on a tough day to get a top 10, by being "engaged" to Sweet's sister. Also a lot of pretty good local type racers from sprints to super stocks and we don't even have a track any more. Lost it in '95.

Menard had to ingest a little crow after he triggered a huge crash in the 500. He wasn't whinin' about JJ after that deal! LOL!

Bowyer saw a hole, went for it and was within a few inches of making it work. Sh!t happens really fast at 200 mph. Blame NASCAR for the mess when they foster pack racing and anything goes near the end of the race. If Clint hadn't tried it some young pup probably would have.

Also doesn't hurt that the drivers don't have a dime invested in their rides, unlike most local racers where destroying your car will likely end your season.

Bowyer was thinking he didnt want to enter corner so low. Was going to kill corner speed. So he tried moving up a little.

Look at #00 Landon Cassill pile into wreck. Why couldn't he have just slowed like #96 Parker Klingerman [car behind him]?

To win a racer has to make many o' split second decisions with a high success rate. Sometimes a 99% success rate ends on a wrecker.
