Plate racing is to blame. Plate racing is now history. That is good news. Maybe the Daytona 500 will return to actual racing. Embarrassing to have your marquee race turn into a big junk yard every year.

Blocking is a huge problem, as well. Blocking is the major contributing factor in many of the superspeedway calamities.
