America's War, The American Rev. War, War between the States, North South War, Brother against Brother War, Union and Confederate war, were all that I remember when a young child in Florida. Then, I saw on TV the letters NAACP (black people were in it), ALCU or something like that with a J in it (no ideal what they were) and civil rights (having something to do with lawyers?) and The Civil War (?). I did not know what The Civil War was about, thinking maybe it was a war between the Negro (Black Panthers) and the police having something to do about the school system with lawyers involved. Then as the Black movement grew, all I heard was civil rights, slavery, and the Civil War (the name had 'arrived' pushed by Blacks)......On AFR Focal Point, Brian Fisher gave the reasons why America was legal an valid in the Nation's history. 1) War: won land fair and square 2) Purchased: most of the land was acquired this way 3) Home-sted: citizens cleared and farmed the for a time period. 4) Agreements: to share the land....This ideal that the Natives were all butt screwed (LOL- Trolls like that), an ideal pushed by the left, it not all true. The Trail of Tears sounds so sad. The Natives had land only for themselves, but some wild Indians went out killing whites no matter what. So the Government, not so friendly, exchange the land from the East to the West to keep the wild Indians away from people......When we were kids, we played Cowboy and Indians, that is now 'R' (Left). If you play Cops and Robbers, that is now 'R' (BLM). So now, the LBGQT+, wants us to play with ourselves. What a messed up World.

Well, I can't speak for your personal experiences, but multiple surveys and studies of literature over the years (newspaper articles, book titles, books from the era) show the term Civil War becoming easily the most used title. If you lived in rural Florida, I can somewhat see people around you and maybe local tv/radio stations using other names, but on a national level, War Between States and the War of Northern Aggression barely covered 15% of usage by the 1920s, maybe earlier

Are you sure it wasn’t 16 % ?Originally posted by Osiris1241 View PostWell, I can't speak for your personal experiences, but multiple surveys and studies of literature over the years (newspaper articles, book titles, books from the era) show the term Civil War becoming easily the most used title. A name of a war is by: Who- people involved, Where- what country; When- by a date. "Civil War" can be in any Country by anybody thru out history which can include 100's of wars. "Civil War" is not a clear history name, it is a so-called reason or purpose name which history can't clearly ID. It was pushed by the Negro to push the word slavery (victimhood) for more rights, get it, Civil War, civil rights, by mostly Black citizens in this country in latter years after WWII.

Both sides during battle was thinking of what? What would be the best name. Folks in letters to the soldiers called it what? Just plain 'the war'. 'War of Northern Aggression', never heard of that one. It just don't sound right. No wonder only 16% used it. Civil Up-rising is a common term for un-rest in a country, not a name for ID. Civil War is a term.

You're now trying to argue the correct way to name wars, which is irrelevant to the conversation. It doesn't matter what you think a proper name is when the argument is about what people actually called it. Even then, other nations likely would call it the American Civil War, but in the United States, there has only been one civil war to refer to, thus THE Civil War can only be referencing that specific conflict. But again, you disagreeing with a name being used doesn't prove your point at all. As for your next post, the 16% was a combination of WoNA AND War Between the States. War of Northern Aggression shouldn't sound right because it's 100% wrong/inaccurate.

He argues about the correct name to call wars, you argue about what war is itself……it works both ways.Originally posted by Osiris1241 View PostYou're now trying to argue the correct way to name wars, which is irrelevant to the conversation. Where have I argued about what war is itself in relation to the origins of the Civil War's name? I'm being honest as this entire thread has become a jumbled mess.

You argued early on that the soldiers from the south didn’t deserve to be recognized on Memorial Day because they weren’t actually fighting a recognized war in the US……….I don’t really remember how you worded it, just that you did.Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

Same thread, but a very different topic. That also isn't what I said in the first place. They don't fall under Memorial Day because they did not fight for the United States military. They fought in direct opposition to it.

YO, YO,! ! Jeffy MO ! ! Y no questions, comments, additions or corrections ? ? Just as I thought ! ! Also your reply about the Klan was way far out there.Originally posted by NorthAlabama View PostJefferymo, define 'white power'..... To make things a little clearer, when we define black power, we are talking about African demonic, Marxist, un-moral ruling like the Black Panthers and some of the Black Terrorist Organizations that has a play book to go to all White Nations and under mine them plus what is good in America. Haiti, Middle Eastern Black Nations like Yemen, and African Nations are in terrible trouble and always will be because of their demonic morals and culture, even the Bible says so. White power is word used by the unmoral left, Hitler was on the Marxist left list with his Alt Reich (pronounced 'Rite', not Right) program to take over the world, An Austria Jew, that hated other Jews. Note, he was not a German but a immigrate to Germany. The Skin Heads promote 'White Power' because they don't want the Jews to no longer control the Banking and Shipping world wide like the Roth-childs, a dozen families of money and power, plus like George Soros is an example. Most all good Governments are White Power ran, which is good. If Black Power controlled the world, the result would be like the movie, 'Planet of the Apes', with the Statue of Liberty buried.

They fought against their aggressors……which as luck would have it, were all from the north.Originally posted by Osiris1241 View PostSame thread, but a very different topic. Like I said, you read about it….a bunch of families people lived it, I know some of them.Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

Doesn't matter who the aggressor was (it was the South, though, who made the initial acts of aggression). I had ancestors who fought in the Civil War too, though mine was for the Union. This isn't about right or wrong. It's about if the soldiers fall under the US Memorial Day. They were not United States soldiers or veterans, so they don't qualify.
