I'll give credit to the overlap of what an actual fiscal year is. But the overlap of a fiscal year does not factor in that when patriotism is on an upswing, recruitment goes up.

For sure the military branches, primarily the Army and Navy had to implement their Future Soldier and Future Sailor programs to gather more recruits. The reason they had to primarily was because our nations public schools are turning out graduates who could not pass aptitude tests to make them good recruits. It is sad state of affairs that 70% of our youth are ineligible to enlist, should they so desire, because of: being overweight and out of shape, criminal behaviors, drug usage (Rx and otherwise), mental health issues, general health issues, and being too unprepared by our education establishment, among other things. That leaves 30% as eligible. For some that is a shockingly low number.

My network was law enforcement. My network was populated by a lot, a lot, of veterans. I worked with a lot of guard and reserve members during my time. My oldest son served in the Air Force. The shocking thing I heard from many of my vet buddies was that what they were telling their own kids not to go in while certain administrations were in charge. You say wokeness wasn't a factor. I'd love to introduce you to several people who could tell you all about training sessions they had to attend regarding pronouns and trigger words.

If someone gets offended by pronouns then maybe service isn't for them anyway.

This was very interesting. I don't think Johnson and Trump have ever really got along.

It wasn't nearly as interesting as Ted Cruz telling people to stop attacking pedophiles.
