You seem to be obsessed with putting private/personal information on me on here and if there is justice you are going to be banned again for it. I don't play this childish game with you and it's time for you to knock it off or be banned.Originally posted by BusheetreatsIf minimum wage rose at the rate that CEO pay has, minimum wage would be around $22.50 Nationwide. I tell you what I send our fearless leader my gas bil I .m sure he wouldn't mind that heck its only35 a day no problem for the conductor lolOriginally posted by Clayton_Wetter View PostAccording to Barack Obama, high gas prices don’t really constitute a problem for Americans. He stated yesterday that the reason for our anger is the rapid increase in prices, not the prices themselves. Obama claimed that Americans would have accepted a “gradual adjustment†to the current cost.
He thinks we would have accepted "gradual adjustments" instead of just saying increased prices. See how he always plays this word game????
But to guys like Bushie, they eat this stuff up and come back for seconds!
Maybe in Realville "gradual adjustments" could actually mean price decreases, but Obummer is not in Realville!

$3.00+ gas prices.
8% unemployment (higher if your a minority).
Untold thousands out of the workforce (no longer eligible to collect unemployment) or underemployed.
Nearly 9 million on disability (13 full time workers for every person collecting).
47 million on food stamps.
A complicit media unable to call out the current administration.
Welcome to the new normal in the U.S.Last edited by C4Vette; 02-05-2013, 09:00 PM."The trouble with quotes on the Internet is that you can never know if they are genuine." ~ Abraham Lincoln

Untold thousands? I'm happy to tell youOriginally posted by Busheetreats8% is less than 10.5% Correct?Untold Thousands, please, do tell. Underemployed, that's a cool term.
Underemployed. It's term used for part time workers that don't won't to be part time or perhaps have a degree but work at the local 7-11 because it's the only job they can find. See below.Among the marginally attached, there were 804,000 discouraged workers in January, a decline of 255,000 from a year earlier. (The data are not seasonally adjusted.) Discouraged workers are persons not currently looking for work because they believe no jobs are available for
them. The remaining 1.6 million persons marginally attached to the labor force in January
had not searched for work in the 4 weeks preceding the survey for reasons such as school
attendance or family responsibilities.
All from government data, Jan. 2013The number of persons employed part time for economic reasons, at 8.0 million, changed
little in January. These individuals were working part time because their hours had been
cut back or because they were unable to find a full-time job."The trouble with quotes on the Internet is that you can never know if they are genuine." ~ Abraham Lincoln

What?????Originally posted by kidrock View PostWell sorry but, Obama is wrong high gas prices would not mean nothing if the wages for employee's would rise as well but, the fact of the matter they haven't so, it is a big deal whether they rise slow of fast.
Its like raising minimum wage. It raises the price of EVERYTHING. So how is that a benefit to the worker who just received a raise? He/she has no more purchasing power then before.
So if everyones wage increases, the price of all goods increase, AND gas increases. That is still bad. It doesnt balance out. Double whammy.
Now inflation.......

How do you explain the price of gas, food and other goods that are going up now without our wages going up? I understand what you are saying and that is usually the case but, not anymore they will raise the price of our goods even if our wages do not go up. It's the greed in America we live in now. It's called the new wall st.Originally posted by balljoint View PostWhat?????

America can no longer supply the jobs for it's people. With corporate America and Wall St. at the helm the unemployment around 20% will be the norm. Big box, small business and mom and pop joints are all under financial pressure. The economy will not recover for most Americans. Those who would help spend a sluggish economy back to a vibrant economy no longer exist. Those who bought the durable goods are no longer able to put money back into the economy. The lack of jobs, low paying jobs,no benefits is putting a burden on our economic growth. States, cities ,communities are all raising taxes.adding taxes, raising fees at an unheard of speed. They all lack the tax dollars they once enjoyed. The pain goes to the ones who can least afford it putting them back farther with less spendable income. Prices continue to climb because the bottom line for Co's is under pressure. Catch 22. Co's raise prices to satisfy wall street. Less customers because of this, shrinks bottom line so raise prices again.. It has become apparent over the years that in many cases we(America) do not have the business leaders we once did. Few innovaters and more profiteers in the business world. The Govt. shares some of the blame. Those who rolled up their sleeves and made business work despite the Govt are no longer out there!! This is of a simplifacation of course but thats the way it is.
