I went there several years ago for a NCRA triple header, mods, 360 sprints, and Late Models. That place is scary fast. At the end of night there were at least 12 cars with motor problems. Less than 8 cars finished the late model 30 lap A feature.

Yea, I can believe that husker. Although, the attrition at The Belleville Nationals was fairly small this year but most everyone who shows up knows the circumstances. I have a hard time figuring out why if a car owner spends 40 to 50 large on an engine why they can't build them to last on tracks bigger than 3/8's mile.

It can be done since I've seen it in Silver Crown competition over the years on the Mile tracks. That was prior to the Gold Crown/NASCAR boondoggle and USAC forcing the switch to ethanol fuel in the Crown cars. The Crown cars were at Belleville for the first time this year and the mechanical attrition was minimal, so it can be done.

Scary fast is a good description. The first hot laps we saw on The Highbanks were a new level of fast as opposed to the bullrings that we're used to.

If you believe the quality of a show is dependent on car count then Boone and the Chili Bowl are the place to be. Large car counts do not ensure a good show, never have, never will. We're merely pointing out the 2 shows that have the largest number of cars to those who believe it does.

Yep, bullrings seem to be the growing trend. The engine builders are pushed to create more and more horsepower and torque from these modern engines and the ability of these engines to stand the rigors of the longer tracks is diminished as a result.

Looked at Berlin on Google Earth and your right, the backstretch is rounded out and a pretty short front stretch.

I think ARCA runs a race or two at Berlin every year.
