I just did a system restore for now. Later I plan to switch to Google Chrome maybe. I want to keep Yahoo as my home page though.
Has anyone else received the "lock.police-agent.com" virus?

Google Chrome may well be a good option. IE is the industry standard. Windows and IE are used more than any other. This alone makes them a system of choice if you was to become a hacker and get as many as you could. This is exactly why you see very little virus problems on Apple along with the lesser used browsers. Not because they can't be hacked, but because the effort is less rewarding. They throw pain out and don't get the number of ouches.

Yes Clayton, it happened to my sister. As long as you have your Windows set on automatic updates and get a good virus program you are good to go. There is a free virus program called AVG that you could use and it will protect you good but I would recommend getting the full paid version of AVG. I use to have Norton, but one day my computer was slowing down, so I did a full scan with Norton and there was no change. My son suggested AVG so I tried the free version of AVG, and sure enough AVG found a virus that Norton could not. So I got the full version of AVG and trashed the 10 months of Norton I had left, and I haven't had a problem since, even with slow downs of the computer. I also use Google Chrome.Originally posted by Clayton_Wetter View PostHas this happened to you or someone you know DC?
