    Denny vs. Danica

Those of you who thought Danica was going to bitch slap Denny after the 2nd qualifier. I was watching with some friends and I was willing to bet $5 that she was gonna' smack him. Got no takers but I would have lost!!

That was the most exciting part of either of the qualifiers.

There was a time when the Twin Qualifiers were by far the best racing of Speedweeks.

And how 'bout the stalwart decision to run the Twins at night? Between that and the deterioration of the racing product the place was only about 1/3 or less full. Not too many people want to freeze their asses off watching a gimmicked up show with most guys locked in to the 500 anyway.

The last time we went to the Qualifiers was before all the gimmicks had wreaked havoc on the popularity of Cup racing and the place was about 90% full. Oh how the mighty have fallen!!

    It's really sad, actually.

funny how nascar is suspending Kurt for a claim of assault mean while they are promoting Danica assaulting Hamlin.I'm not a big fan of the guy but it's now where a woman can just claim a guy assaulted her and his career is toast nothing proven in court he said she said and a judges opinion. this thing stunk from the beginning and is getting worst.

The biggest problem I have with this whole deal as it is written by the court, "more likely then not" is not what our court system is all about, we have to have solid proof, evidence and a jury...I see none of that here...NASCAR jumped out in front of the bus, hopefully it doesn't wipe them out....

I don't think what Danica did can be construed as assault in the literal interpretation or the spirit of the law.

As far as Kurt Busch is concerned, I'm sure he's got some fairly high powered lawyers on retainer. It is probably a safe bet if he's getting railroaded the lawyers would have found a way to nullify that whole deal.

I don't know if he's guilty or not, but that isn't the point, the point is he's suspended from work from hearsay.... somebody goes to your boss and says your a little to friendly with little kids and you get fired over it...if your innocent, is that fair? Busch hasn't even gone to court yet....

Kurt Busch has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he's a living, breathing, talking, subhuman POS.

Given his past record NASCAR is better off without him than with him. Why we give these miscreants any attention at all (me included) is a mystery.

yes as crazy as it seems when ever you grab/strike another person even as little as she did you can be arrested for assault. been there done that a cop will have no trouble telling you while your in cuffs in the back of the car. people may not like him that's everyone's choice I don't care but nascar is over reacting trying to hard to not be the NFL and letting a guy off after the world has seen video prof, no one should loose a career over a claim by a pissed of ex.

Watch the video, Patrick neither struck Hamlin or grabbed him in an aggressive manner that could in any way be construed as assault. I am not a lawyer but common sense would dictate that there is no doubt whatsoever that this would be laughed out of court in a blink of an eye. When assault charges are made to stick in a court of law it would be for much more that she did. There isn't a judge or a jury in the country that would convict Patrick of assault. Period.

I would agree no one should lose their career over a PO'd former girlfriend. However, in this case the defendant in question should lose his career for repeatedly demonstrating that he's unworthy of the position of NASCAR driver as was clearly defined in the previously posted video links. The PO'd ex-girlfriend is just icing on the cake.

I for one am encouraged that NASCAR did the right thing in this instance. Usually NASCAR picks stupid when confronted with the choice of stupid vs. the right thing to do.

Now, you want to talk assault, well here's assault for you. Didn't hear anyone howling that the guy doing the pushing and shoving should be brought up on assault charges but in this case a good lawyer just might make it stick and it probably should have happened.

Have I missed a report or what? I have not heard that any charges have even been charged yet. How can NASCAR even get involved at this point. They should have suspended the judge for making that statement before anything has been brought up in court period. Not a Kurt fan but fair is fair. NASCAR is sooooo politicaly correct, because it is a business and not even a race anymore, they have ruined a sport that some of us use to love and cherish. Now they are like watching a spec series. Look how the have handled the Danica deal. She is not a top caliber drive and they act like she can walk on water. She can even draft at the big tracks without crashing. Denny pushed several drives around the track the same way he was pushing her and she puts it in the wall. What he hell.

Pig, it HAS been brought up in court. The ruling by a family court judge in Delaware is what prompted Chevrolet to suspend all ties with busch and NASCAR to suspend him indefinitely.

As I said before, Busch $hit in his lunch bucket several times during his NASCAR days and it appears NASCAR has had enough of it. Who do you blame? Do you blame Busch for being a complete ass load and and embarrassment over the years or NASCAR for taking an advantage of the situation and getting rid of guy who should have been gone a long time ago?

In this case, it's not about being politically correct, it's about the cumulative sum of unacceptable behavior over time that finally culminated with an infraction that the sports world as a whole is very sensitive about thus being the straw that broke the camel's back.
