Yep, we missed it and very glad we were where we could watch dirt track racing and weren't able to watch the gimmicks in action even if we wanted to! Hehehehe!! Mainly because we were camping and attending real races. 4 different shows of 3 different types of racecars on 3 completely different dirt tracks in a 48 hour period and spent about 1/2 for admission than we'd have spent to go watch the phony gimmicks. I'm thinkin' maybe even a gullible, kool aid drinkin' hack like you can figure the benefit in that situation.Originally posted by mudslinger47 View PostHey Cirf...maybe you need to watch a little racing then you'd actually have a little credibility... the last 60 or so laps with 22 and 4 were some great racing, around and through lap traffic.... Kyle coming from the back of the pack up to 8th or 9th was also some really good racing... problem is, you have your hate glasses on and refuse to see any of the good... there was really good racing all the way through the pack... sorry you missed it.. as for the attendance, 140K ain't nothing to sneeze at and I still think the demographics for people that actually car about cars and racing is rapidly going away.. probably won't die in our lifetimes but at some point I'm sure it will.. and it won't have squat to do with how they run the show.... kids....18 to roughly 40 just ain't into cars like we were....
Not sure how that can be construed as hate but you somehow tried to pull it off, anyway. Hehehehe! And, stop with the pee wee hatred stuff, you know I love pee wee and I cheer him on while hoping he wins every week!
What once was one of the toughest tickets on the Cup schedule and the race that drew some of the highest TV ratings just 10 to 12 years ago has been relegated to not even close to selling out and being broadcast on an obscure cable sports channel that many people can't get even if they wanted to watch the gimmick's.
You cleared it all up professor, the reason for NASCAR's meteoric fall from prominence is all due to changing social demographics. It has nothing at all to do with the phony gimmicks and waivers, etc. Riiiiiiiiiight! It's now abundantly clear. Literally LOL!
GO PEE WEE JR.!!

And I was also at a dirt track crew chiefing as I usually do on the weekend.... your points, as usual, are lame.... you don't like NASCAR fine don't watch, you won't be missed....Originally posted by CIRF View PostYep, we missed it and very glad we were where we could watch dirt track racing and weren't able to watch the gimmicks in action even if we wanted to! And as for the deal with KBM So? He can't sell a ride once in a while? Kid wasn't very good so his daddy, the owner of ZLOOP reneged.... says more about ZLOOP then KBM....

That's great!!! You were doing your best Dale Inman impersonation all weekend!! Very impressive! Hehehehe!!
I'm sure I personally wasn't missed over the last 10 years and won't be missed after pee wee jr. wins the championship or is eliminated in the vastly entertaining racing gimmick that is the NASCAR "playoff". It's the collective millions of other former track spectators and TV viewers that have abandoned NASCAR that are being sorely missed by NASCAR. And that can't be denied, even by a gimmick lover like you.
In regards to pee wee jr. selling rides, I couldn't care a bit less, just as I don't give a $hit about your alleged crew chiefing exploits. However, it's all the talk about how our boy pee wee jr. gives back to the little guys who can't bring money and he never sells rides which is just a lot more bull$hit and the lawsuit proves it.
Now, back to the important stuff, like cheering pee wee jr. on to a championship!!
Are ya' still with me, mud (aka gimmick boy)?!

Sadly I missed this weekends Southern 500, I was away doing my do diligence at the dirt tracks... only three or four shows left this years and all travelers..... Didn't check my DVR and the "Hopper" from DISH which sucks donkey stems missed recording it.... I hear Kyle recovered nicely and is locked into the CHASE... can't hardly wait for the festivities to begin!!!!

I missed the Southern 500, too. Not too upset about it though, since we were at The Du Quoin State Fairgrounds Magic Mile Sunday night enjoying the Fair and one of the best USAC Silver Crown races we've seen in a good long while. A Silver Crown hundred miler on a 1 mile dirt track is the closest thing to pure competition a race fan can get. No group qualifying, no "lucky dog" and no pit stops. Just qualify 'em, start 'em straight up, manage the right rear to still be fast at 80 miles and see who's fastest without all the gimmicky bull$hit. Smokey Yunick (being a famous Dale Inman trained crew chief you surely know who Smokey was) was quoted several times saying Silver Crown racing was the closest thing to real racing left in the country, and he was absolutely right.Originally posted by mudslinger47 View PostSadly I missed this weekends Southern 500, I was away doing my do diligence at the dirt tracks... only three or four shows left this years and all travelers..... Now, let's get down to the serious business of cheering on pee wee jr. to a championship, shall we?!!

Going to the USAC sprint car races this weekend myself....already set the dvr for Richmond....prabably only difference between us is I like racing, your a bandwagoner... you enjoy picking it apart and getting into the politics of the racing and I couldn't care less.... I go to enjoy racing, you go to pick it apart... I'm a fan, not sure why you even bother to go....

Bandwagoner?!!! Bbbbwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaha!!!
Seriously, I haven't laughed at anyone as hard as I just laughed at you for a long, long time.
You've really entered into an area of which you know very, very little about there mr. crew chief.
Try another angle 'cause the "bandwagoner" stuff just ain't gonna' stick! Hehehehehe!!!

Bandwagoner?!!
You're either blind, stupid or both.
That's the only plausible explanation.
Oh wait, maybe you're viewing all things NASCAR thru these! Hehehehe!!

Oh, we're watchin', at least until pee wee jr. is given the championship (he can't really win fair and square since he hasn't competed in all the season's events) or he's ultimately eliminated somehow by this silly format (it's not really a format, it's just an over hyped gimmick).
I'm sure glad you approve of me not watching but since I AM watching with great interest do I rate your all important approval in that regard, too? Hehehehe!
What is most intriguing is that you can determine my political ideology from my new found interest and excitement in reference to NASCAR. Now that's some talent right there. Hehehehe!!
Now, let's get on with the "chase", shall we!! I can't wait, the first race of the gimmick is right in our back yard!
GO PEE WEE JR.!!
