You are comparing a great president to one who would destroy the nation and calling this Commie great in comparison???? Holy cow what does it take to get through to some.Originally posted by ss12 View PostClayton Clayton Just more right wing spin. All you need to know is he had the biggest tax increase in history when a war wasn't going on. Its that simple. Any time you read an article and they mention the word "liberal" you know it is right wing bias.
Clayton you right wing war monger are helping Obama look like one of the greatest president that was ever in office. You bring up how bad the economy was prior to Reagan taking the office. Things wasn't half as bad as it was for Obama. A world wide financial melt down, a war that was a lied from the previous republican administration, and a economy that was loosing 800,000 jobs a month to china. What he pulled off was a miracle.
40 years from now most of the population won't even know who Reagan was. I hate to bust your bubble but he not even in the same caliber as a Washington, Jefferson, or a Lincoln. He more in the caliber as a Harrison, Polk, or Hayes. Obama will be more famous because he was the first black president.
Keep on building how great Reagan is because its going to make Obama like some kind of a god. I must remind you I didn't vote for Obama either term.
Obummer great compared to Reagan. Did you think Stalin was great too?
One party is lying to achieve it's agenda and you call the other party out as right wing spin.? This dumbing down of a nation's people has been a success and that's exactly why the nation is going down the crapper. The truth has become the LIE and the LIE has become the truth. Good is bad and bad is good.
This is all happening and some people took the wrong turn at the fork in the road. Maybe turning around, coming back and taking the right turn is in order?

Oh Clayton just take a look at the republican party right now. Nobody in the republican party wants the speaker job. It just go to show how disarray the party is. There is to many republican faction fighting against each other. Look at the # 1 republican presidential candidate. A person from the entertainment field. The owner of Monday night raw pro wrestling. Looks like to me the republican party is getting out of politic and getting into the entertainment field. After all Reagan came from the entertainment field. And their debates so far have been very entertaining. Got to go to work.Haters don't really hate you, in fact they hate themselves because you are a reflection of what they wish to be.

The bottom line on klinton is that he was a rapist, possibly a multiple offender, but we know of at least 1 rape.
The good economy during klinton's 2 terms was in no small part the result of what Reagan did during his tenure.
He was disbarred for being a liar, and lying under oath.
Mrs. klinton stayed married to, and staunchly defended her rapist husband for her own political and financial ambitions. A champion of women's rights? What a bag of bull$hit.
This is just a little bit of the bad stuff that is the legacy of the klinton's. As a nation we elected the guy twice to the highest office in the free world and now we're thinking about electing his enabling wife to the same office.
Hard to believe, isn't it?

Yes there are people that would like to have the job, but they know that they have to face the entire left wing medias, and Obummer and his cronies in doing so!Last edited by Clayton_Wetter; 10-20-2015, 04:35 PM.

Ranks right up there with a precocious 6 year old who throws insults around with every other breath and uses bankruptcy laws to mitigate his own poor decision making and leaves everyone else holding the bag for his financial folly the other side is offering up as their front runner.
One thing I can agree with Terry on completely is this nation lacks for leadership, period. All we have to choose from these days is an egotistical pampered spoilt brat on one side, and a pampered and spoilt professional political operative on the other.

Gotta' agree on how sad the choices are on either side of the political spectrum. On one side you choose from a dried up old rapist enabler, liar and all around slime bag. A senile old white socialist and the miserably failed mayor of Baltimore and governor of Maryland and a remarkably well read war hero who sadly hasn't a chance in he!! since he makes way too much sense and has way to many scruples and class to be President.
On the other side we have a self made billionaire who thinks he's capable of way, way more than he can possibly deliver but says things that a lot of people want to hear. He's going to end up with a lot more money regardless of whether he's elected or not. An incredibly gifted role model surgeon who has the smarts to be President and would do more for his race than any person accept maybe Condi Rice. He just doesn't have the worldly experience to walk into the Oval Office and be effective. Ben Carson should be the black man that the black community turn to for leadership but instead they look to "Tawana Brawley" Sharpton, Cory Booker, Jessie Jackson and Tavis Smiley, just to name a few of the stalwart leaders of the black community. Next we have a failed female CEO of a major corporation who is basically honest but may suffer from the same shortcomings as Carson. The rest are all career politicians who would be retreads of what we've had in the past, which since the days of G.H.W. Bush, has been bad.
The really talented people will not subject themselves to the scrutiny and inappropriate mud slinging. The conservative candidates undeniably are much more in the cross hairs of the corrupt national media. I believe that the reason Condi Rice doesn't run (and she would beat any democrat they could put up against her and she would mop the floor with hillary klinton in a debate). She knows what's coming from her own race and, again, the corrupt national media and therefore she's way too smart to subject herself to that kind of abuse. I would gleefully vote for Conaleezza Rice but unfortunately it won't happen.Last edited by CIRF; 10-19-2015, 09:18 PM.

Trying to talk politics on here is like p!$$ing in the wind. There's too many tea party types that want the Republican party to fall off the right side of the cliff. They follow FOX news and all it's commentators almost like it's an addiction and believe every word they preach. What happened to both sides having a moderate view on their policy and beliefs?? Both Republicans and Dems have good pts and bads! What needs done for the better of the country is to try and compromise for the better of the country and compromise!! But, more so than the hard left the tea party lovers have taken over and "it's our way or the highway"!! And no, I'm not an MSNBC watcher or a hard core liberal!! But, I will say one of the best things about the Clintons is how mad they make FOX and the conservatives!

The answer to this is complex. Our system used to favor middle of the road compromise when there was no Citizens United decision allowing wealthy people unlimited ability to spend on campaigns and attack candidates not favorable to them. And when there were earmarks allowed.Originally posted by mud duck View PostTrying to talk politics on here is like p!$$ing in the wind. Citizen's united basically gutted the leverage of the political party over candidates in favor of private money. Candidates used to need the financial backing and support of a party to get elected, so when they got elected, the party's leadership in senior positions could count on members to fall in line on key votes. The party had some sway with elected members as the party was the support system. With Citizens United, people in office are more fearful of the attack ads run against them that can cost them their job in congress than they are of the party, because private money is far greater than party money and support.
Basically Citizens United made the "party affiliation" inconsequential and now candidates are more beholden to their individual private backers. But what they fear most is not that they won't have support for them, but that some other more extreme candidate further to the left or right of them will get the favor of big money folks who will then run a full on assault campaign against them in a primary and then get cut out of the running altogether.
These days more than ever, candidates run on attack ads funded by the most extreme wealthy individuals, so they have to pander to the most extreme elements to even stand a chance of getting elected. Which is great for the extremist wealthy minorities on both sides, and bad for democracy.
And then there is the removal of earmarks. Boehner lamented that as Speaker, he had no leverage with the Freedom Caucus. What could Boehner do for them? Nothing. With no earmarks, and private money being more important than Party, Boehner was emasculated as Speaker. He could tell these guys to get in line on a vote, and all they would do is tell him to stick it. He had nothing to give them, like a bridge, or school funding, or a new park, or some other trinket the member could go back to the constituents with and say Hey, Look what I DID for YOU!
Nope. Earmarks are gone, so the leverage those earmarks gave leadership is gone. And Citizens United means politicians no longer need a party to get elected, they just gotta have the favor of people with money.
Like Warren Buffet said, "Yes, there is a class war being waged in America, it is being waged by the rich, and we are winning."
I mean, seriously, does anyone really think a Donald Trump kind of guy would be the front runner for the Republicans if Citizen's United had never happened? If he had to play under the old rules and system of garnering Republican rank and file support to even be considered a serious candidate? That the majority of old middle of the road conservatives would entertain any extremist like we see today?
My guess is without the current ability of wealthy folks to spend without end on campaigns, most of the field of Republicans wouldn't be getting a look. And Bernie Sanders wouldn't be anything more than a guy running around on the fringes as his message wouldn't appeal to many people at all.Last edited by t.nie; 10-20-2015, 10:07 AM.

Uhhh, what we have here ladies & gentlemen, girls & boys, is a genuine rapist apologist and the condoning of a rapist enabler, all in the name of some perceived irritation of a news network.Originally posted by mud duck View PostTrying to talk politics on here is like p!$$ing in the wind. However, it's a safe bet that the ratings for Fox News were/are better during the klinton/hussein administrations so it's probably another safe bet that the folks at Fox News aren't all that upset. This weird satisfaction you're reveling in may be all for naught.
But by all means, carry on with your weird satisfaction if it makes ya' feel good! Hehehehe!
