What is .......they are the WOOD FREAKIN BROTHERS RACE TEAM for the daily double Alex!!!Originally posted by mudslinger47 View PostIf you don't fit the requirements, then why would you expect NASCAR to give them a Charter?
But I see your technical point, just a shame what it's become........dem boys been doing it long before the current rulers were even born.
Oh, and they still put out fast race cars and are relevant....Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

Come on, those guys have tons of money, if they close a team down no big deal, but Tommy Baldwin of BK Motorsports or Frontrow, who operate on a shoestring, now have worth... they have instant equity in their companyOriginally posted by drano View PostLittle guys? What little guys Hendrick, Childress, Roush come on there are no little guys left in nascar.

He is that good.... Chase gets all the noise, Blaney will double down on that....Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

You keep talking about rulz we all know nascar makes them up as they go they always have look at last year and the so called championship and as for the charter they are about 25 to 30 years late back then they had the so called little guys.Originally posted by mudslinger47 View PostAnd I understand that and it is a shame, but dems the rulz.... They didn't get a Charter because they didn't try and qualify for every race over the last, I think, three years... in other words, the teams working the hardest to make NASCAR's shows were rewarded... Wood Brothers chose to go with select shows, what good does that do NASCAR? They need teams that show up and race every week... this ain't rocket science, the teams that tried the hardest are being rewarded...simple as that....and it helps the smallest teams the most....probably the single most important decision NASCAR has made in twenty plus years...Originally posted by old fan View PostExplain wood brothers not getting a charter and the chase can go
Let me explain it this way...Tommy Baldwin wants out of racing, tired of the grind... puts his stuff up for sale and gets pennies on the dollar... just the way racing is...now, because he has a charter, his equipment isn't worthier any more, but that Charter is. Instant value... I will guarantee every little team is freakin ecstatic.... to Penski, Roush, Hendrick, and JGR its a "so what" deal.. they'll get more for their teams if they sell them but it doesn't mean nearly as much as it does to the smaller teams...

They did, they applied to Tony Stewart a couple years ago after the Sprint car accident...and they applied to Kyle... how is that not consistent? There was one other guy too but his name escapes me at the moment...Originally posted by drano View PostI understand how the charter works its pretty simple ,but how is a champion crowned and he doesn't race every race the same rules should apply after all nascar makes them up.

The charter system is strictly about the TEAM, not the driver. A team could have 3 different drivers throughout they year, but they still attempted every race as a team. NASCAR has in the past has put the emphasis on "owners points" as fall back on to making a race via provisional. The charter system essentially eliminates that aspect, if I read the rule correctly.Originally posted by drano View PostWell just staying with the nascar theme they seem to put so much on having to start or attempt to start every race to become a charter team but when it comes to a champion it doesn't seem to matter as much.
