How can one keep his/her morals out of politics? You can't....because there are bills/laws passed that deal with morality! Laws have been passed (abortion and homosexuality) that are strictly against Gods word and believe it or not, affect the whole country!

Don't take this wrong, but being a moderate means you don't take a strong stand against too many things. You can be easily swayed or convinced. Conservatives are not that way because we believe in what God has to say about a particular matter. Believing in the Bible is VERY abrasive, but it essentialy says......love and obey God and his word, for all else leads to destruction.

Being a moderate, means that I agree with some of each parties platform. I do not tie my hands to any party any given year. I decide on who has the best chance to govern this country and get something done and who's less crooked. If the candidate sounds like a preacher in his speeches, they won't get my vote. As I stated, I don't want a politician talking to me about religion or moral values. I want them to address things like Social Security, fixing our roads/bridges, fixing healthcare, taxes, a jobs bill that the Congress should have passed, making the military strong without being the world's police and cut spending and start paying down the deficit or at least try. I don't need to here about his/her religious beliefs, moral values (because if they are a politician, morals are probably not something they will have), who should be married to who, or abortion. Those are all social issues that ultimately the Republican party is going to lose on (sooner or later), because the younger generation does not see things the same way. It's just the hard cold fact.
