Just a footnote from the experience of attending the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500.

I cannot express strongly enough the gambit of emotions that surround the traditional 21 Gun Salute and the playing of Taps immediately following. It is the most reverent, solemn and extremely emotional experiences I have ever witnessed in person. It evokes an eerie shiver brought on by the absolute silence to the point of hearing a pin drop while amongst a crowd of 350,000+ race fans. At that moment of the sounding of Taps not only filled our eyes with tears but made us very proud to be an American and part of that crowd of race fans that was so respectful of the honored dead whose ultimate sacrifice made it possible for us to be enjoying The Greatest Spectacle In Racing. All of us 350,000+ should be proud of ourselves. I doubt the atmosphere would be that respectful at some sporting events, including some auto races.

The flyover consisted of 4 Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet's and believe me, they were cookin' when they flew down the main straightaway of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. There also was a flyover by a North American P-51 Mustang and that old girl was gettin' it done, too!!

I can, but nothing about the word boring in regards to the 100th running of the biggest race in the world would be applicable. And, no silly NASCAR gimmick, such as the lucky dog gimmick, changed the outcome of the race and it didn't end with a NASCAR gimmick that caused it to be the Indy 505 or 507.5 or 510. It was the Indy 500 with not 1 phantom yellow and not one one pass was made by purposely wrecking someone or hitting someone and all 350,000+ in attendance loved it. Every last ticket was sold one and it was a GREAT race and for some odd inexplicable reason one can sense a bit of contempt from you because of it. Interesting, although very odd.

It WAS a dam good race and it appears that you're not very appreciative of those that died so you can go through life being a stellar half witted simpleton. there is a place to for respecting those that died while or after serving our country sorry the race track is not one of them and we know you hate NASCAR we get that and all races should end under green if does not I want my money and will never ever care to see an event from that sanction again if they have time for all the pomp and circumstance they have time to finish and don't about how great the race we saw it on tv , and another thing I would like to see the WHOLE track if I am paying that much for a ticket for honoring the vets oh maybe something like this http://www.rollingthunder1.com/ I know you like large crowds how about 600 k showing up for this one that is 2 indy 500 crowds

What I don't understand is how some will never get it that the Indy 500 is and has been the biggest race in the world and it should be sold out and it should have the biggest crowds ever and yes a foot note it should be bigger then the Daytona 500 but, what was amazing when the years the Daytona drew bigger crowds then the Indy 500 or even the July race at Daytona drew bigger crowds then the Indy 500. Now the tide has turned and Indy is back to where it should be but, they need to find a way to get fans back for the rest of their races. NASCAR still is out pacing Indy racing in fan support still more people watching on TV and attending the races and Indy cars have a long way to go to catch up.

It's been the time and the place for 105 years and counting and there have been no complaints from anyone but you. If you don't have any regard for those who have paid the ultimate price to give you the right to go through life being a perfect imbecile then I reckon, right or wrong, that's part of the freedom they died for. I believe the crowds for the Indy 500 have always exceeded Daytona for both the February and July races. The Indy 500 has universally been heralded as the largest single day sporting event in the world for decades. Even during the years that Indy wasn't completely sold out it was close and it was estimated at an honest 290,000 counting all the infield.

You seem to be very resentful of the fact that The Indianapolis 500 has been a great race each of the last 4 years with this year being no exception. You seem to be equally resentful of the fact that the Indy 500 is the largest single day sporting event in the world. Is it because no taxi cab race comes close to drawing 350,000+? Or is it because it's been a great race for years now in spite of the absence of NASCAR style gimmickry? A fact that further solidifies the reality that gimmickry is neither needed or justified to produce entertaining and exciting racing. Regardless or the reasons you seem to have a fairly significant complex going on.

The Indy 500 once again whooped ass on the taxi cab race in TV ratings. The gimmick race at Charlotte was down 11% from last year and scored the lowest TV ratings since 2001. Things are going in opposite direction from what you want to see, aren't they!! LOL!

What is really puzzling is why a person that is so dismissive with so much personal disdain and contempt for a particular race would comment on it so vigorously in a thread solely dedicated to that race. Puzzling at best, weird at worst.


Hypocrisy seems to hold a large portion of your character makeup. I assume you have to medicate to reach that level of hypocrisy. Are your hypocrisy pills available to you over the counter or by prescription only? LOLOL!!!
