You can't claim a 604 as a spec.2 totally different engines and they are teched different.

Why not the heads are spec for that engine?

They are spec for a 604 crate not for a srrs spec motor. Not even close to the same head other than being aluminum.SRRS spec heads are made by Brodix and has to have the serial number on them.

Because he does not build those. He's all for helping those down 200hp, but never mind those down 400. I smell a hypocrit.

I didn't write the SRRS spec motor rules I wrote their steelhead rules.604 crate motors have never been legal as a SRRS spec motor. Its got nothing to do with whether I build 604 crate motor or not. There has never been a rule saying Ronnie Johnson is the only one who can run a CT525 and there is no rule saying hes the only one the rules apply too.

depends on the size of the track

The all alu 525 has 525 hp in a corvette, with throttle body. Add ported intake and carb and you have much more than spec. Also the $5000 spec motor was that wet sump, and was it stock block?

Perfconn about how much HP does your spec engine make? Thanks

Depends on whose dyno I use.The last Southern All Star Spec engine I dynoed was on B&B Race Engines in Maryville and it was 604 peak hp.Their dyno reads about 25-30 less than Custom Race Engines dyno, which I use sometimes.

I dont think you can have someone build you a spec engine for 12 grand carb to oil pan,and say what they want all of those guys with spec engines are pushing the rules to the limit and then some,a good spec engine built by a top notch engine builder is 20 grand, thats if you want to run up front, the last i heard was 23 or 24 for a wall to wall

Instead of running the race maybe they should just put everyone's engine on the dyno and reward finishing positions based on who has the most hp. I think that's what Chris Madden and Vic Hill wanted at North Georgia last year.
