There is a tail fin in the foreground that says "Sopwith" on it, but we never see the whole plane. But yes, a B52 would definitely arouse concern from the neighbors, but the scream from a JU87 is always a crowd pleasure. LOL

For a race of this magnitude, their shouldn't be any provisionals. Like the World 100. Race yer way in or go home.

The World 100 has always had provisionals. The fastest 2 qualifiers that don't transfer got in starting 19th and 20th.
They may have changed that in recent years, but it used to be that way.

Believe it has been changed to top 2 point guys from prelim nights that don't make it but I'm not positive

That is a provisional based on something accomplished during the event. Not the same.

Now, they do a point provisional and fastest qualifying lap provisional, I believe.

I stand somewhat corrected. You're right. I was referring more to emergency type provisionals or series points provisionals that the touring series give away at most all sanctioned events.
Like MasterSbilt Racer said, the World provisional is something handed out for performance produced during that weekend. Not because you're 9th in the series points but finished 12th in the B Main.

Well, we seen why they changed it after how Jon Henry got in that one year. Quick lap, and he was junk in actual racing trim. The way they do it now with highest in points not getting in I really like. Not based on one quick lap.

Everyone stood and cheered for the movie cameras the first lap. By the 10th lap everyone was staring at their beer or gone to take a piss.

I wouldn’t doubt it, I just remember that was like the final straw into them going away from qualifying meaning so much.
