Salary cap would be a lot of figuring when you get to the middle of the pack to the lower tier drivers..wonder how dk does it they prob got some kind of software to calculate it to make it where you are always like a 100 bucks short of having the driver you want for ur final spot...

A lot of their pricing has to do with matchups, and where the games are played. Take MLB for example, Coors field is known as the best hitters park in baseball. When you have a team playing in Coors field, (take the Washington Nationals and Bryce Harper for example), he would cost an ungodly amount to where you are forced to jam in lower salary players with him.

You could do the same with racing. Like I mentioned earlier, Bloomer is obviously very good at Eldora, you could make him ($15,000 for example), which would leave $35,000 left for salary on 5 other drivers. You would then be forced to make some sacrifices, (Rusty Schlenk for $5,000 or Tyler Carpenter for $6,500). Say the following week, they're racing at Tyler County, you could make Josh Richards the most expensive and obviously find value picks with some of the locals that run there or use middle tier guys like Jared Hawkins, Dennis Erb, Mason Zeigler, etc. That would force people to not use the very most high profiled drivers every week. Those are just examples, it wouldn't be too hard to do IMO. Most of us know who runs the best at certain tracks. Driver history at each track would factor into pricing.

Keeping track of how many times each person picks a driver wouldn’t be that difficult. If it was a year long thing then it might be a bit more difficult, but this would be around 10-15 races

Doing something like draft kings would be an awesome idea but I wouldn’t even know where to begin in regards to placing values on drivers

also I'm not expecting as many people to participate in this league as the free one we currently have. I'm hoping that putting the entry at $10-20 per round will keep entries down to 20-30 a race and make it much more manageable than the 50+ in the free one

Yes dch I agree I think the limit to 5 picks is the easiest way and will involve strategy where you cant just pick the best guys every week...

We'll start this money league next weekend for the Show-Me. Friday I'll make a thread with all the final details and rules. One last thing that I would like to bring up before it gets started is would there be any backlash if I were to join in on the fun as well? The way we'll do the picks is when you pay your fee for a particular round, you'll put your picks as a message on paypal to keep it private until a few hours before the race. In order to keep things transparent on my end and assure that everything is on the up and up, I'd be willing to make my picks public on the picks thread each round. That way theres no questions about me having the advantage of seeing who everyone else picks before i decide who my drivers are

Look up stldtr fantasy league on Facebook. Follows mostly Lucas. $5 per week or $100 for year, and pays $25 to the winner. Really simple rules, just need some more to play.
