You may be right. It used to be if your rig is licensed rv, you didn't need a cdl air brakes or not. Things my have changed maybe?

I dunno. I worked for a place that had a truck with air brakes but we didnt have a CDL to drive it. It was single axle though. Maybe anything over single axle needs one.

If its commercial you do need a cdl. Guys used to get away with not having a cdl and all the regulations attached by regestering as rv and getting permits to carry fuel without a hazmat endorsement.
