Let me help you.
An event is something more then just a race.
As is the case of last years race that was cancelled because things didn't come together as planned.
There was a planned parachute landing, Possible aircraft fly over, Some military folks there, and a whole lot more to help and support our troops.
When you add up the money that would have cost the track a ton.
Tony has never cut or missed on payout.
A race is simply that just a race.

Sounds like cancelling a football game because you couldn't afford a marching band to me.

What's the problem? The Popes Vatican City has a wall. Even Obama built a wall around his rental in DC. Frankly, without borders our wonderful country will be turned into a 3rd world sh!t whole.........Re. Tony Izzo, been to La Salle numerous times. Not once have I seen a lack of effort to produce a good show and would never expect Izzo to take a hit to produce one. Be happy that there is still people willing to take a risk on big league dirt racing.

I hear Eldora puts on a few nice events, with just racecars and some fireworks.
I also hear Cedar lake puts on a cool event, just by handing out some glow sticks, turning out the lights and playing some rock music... and then again some racecars.
I have never went to Lasalle, but its on my list to get to eventually. There is a way to make your race weekend feel like an event without dumping a load of money into anything extra. Sounds like a poor cop-out to me.
