You have to think HokerTrucking,BigRiverSteel,ColtmanFarms. Are all tired to the driver for sponsorship and most likely being paid out on a monthly basis and he was definitely winning enough to keep him out on the road. So Todd Burns had to be giving more money to spend less of his own. Or he is the dumbest guy in late model racing!

In this split debacle, how do the driver points/car owner points work?

Just as described, driver points belong to the driver and owner points belong to the owner

Clearly the guy isn't dumb. There is obviously something else driving this decision, something that success isn't able to make better.

I agree it’s probably something more detailed than will be told.. but success is winning and bringing in $$$ instead to of spending your own money! So in that regard he is dumb for getting rid of the driver that’s winning the most at this point in the season.

I watched it. Kenny had nothing...at all. He didn't claim to know anything either. He babbled on about his why he held his coffee mug the way he does, then about his Mark Richards interview and the state of the sport regarding money, but he had no inside info on RTJ or anything other than just his usual idiocy.

I stand corrected then. Thanks for the info. I coulda swore it was Burroughs, but I don't doubt you.

@FoxFire - yes. I remember that Huddy got dumped by Burns in the past. It might be hard for Hud to pass up a chance for that seat, but I think if he keeps at it with his own program, eventually the results will come. It has taken B-Shep a while to get his deal going. Hopefully Hud can turn things around more quickly.

DoD is saying in the Castrol Racewire it's a Sheppard-Riggs Longhorn that he'll be running tonight.

I don't think the SSI car will be there tonight.

Tip of the hat to Steve Sheppard Racing for offering up a seat on such short notice. I look for RTJ to continue his winning ways.

90% of late model drivers are hired guns. So in 2024 they don't sign contracts. If they aren't then they are at the whim of the owner, then they are the biggest fools for not having a signed contract. This could lead to more racers wanting to have there own sh*t and do what THEY want not what an owner wants. You don't think shepherd gave up rocket because of competing. No B Shepp wanted more say so and richards wasn't or isn't about to give that up. Sounds like oneal up to his neck in this deal, sounds like a little collusion going on. Did O'Neal cut Thorntons throat behind the scenes, rumor mill has Huddy already strapped ino SSI ride.

No rule against collusion in DLM racing though. Will certainly add an extra level of rivalry if that is the case though. For marketing, Flo, and Lucas will like it. lol
