Team Zero Chassis... What now?

I know its soon, but I am curious if anyone has said anything about the future. McDowell taking over? I had heard somewhere that Scott had shipped or was about to ship his jig to Barry Wright for some sort of deal. I know Scott was the force behind it, but I'd hate to see it end with him. How similar is the "Sniper" chassis that Ricky Weiss builds to the Zero? How similar is "Category 5"?

I'd say McDowell will take it over. Now if he goes with Wells or Barry or someone else I don't know but I'd imagine McDowell is at the helm.

Grabbed this from the US Patent & Trademark registry. Looks like any trademarks (word marks) on the words Team Zero have been abandoned.

Never was a Bloomer fan. Moyer & Purvis plus Moran, Freddie Smith were the man far as I'm concerned. Never liked all the drama Bloomer brought in. So much was manufactured. Meh.

No. There never has been. It would be too easy to beat anyway. Just change one little small thing to make it look different. Besides Kirkpatrick, I don't think anyone has ever built a "clean sheet" design that wasn't in some way copied from a major builder's car.

I know a guy who made his fortune in a couple of nationwide franchise businesses that he started. He was going to build an original car and patent everything. A little research and he abandoned the idea.

Yep, I'd like to see Shane and both McDowells take over Team Zero Chassis and devolop it into a full blown brand. Their both getting older and might be away to extend both Careers and Buisness.

If something works it only makes sense to start from where they left off. I have influences and aspects from many builders I like. Kirkpatrick has the advantage of being an engineer so starting clean sheet may come easier for him. Rocket grew out of Bullitt, Barry Wright grew out of a Holman-Moody if memory serves, Warrior/Bloomquist grew out of Rayburn and many of the modern upstarts copied Longhorn and/or Rocket. Sadly it seems most just do a direct copy with no upgrades of there own. I think GRT was unique, but he may have had influence from Shaw, but thats outside my pool of knowledge. Obviously All those I've mentioned have evolved over time, but they made the rational decision to start from where they knew what worked. I use to have a 2000 Barry Wright, the rumor was that it was a GRT copy, but I can tell you the only thing it shared with the GRT was that they were both under rail cars, but the similarities ended there. Cages were different, pickup points were different, spindles different, rack width was different, rear width was different, much more than the naked eye can see.
