Here is the problem, the current landscape of DLM racing is its a 2 horse race. Plain and simple. Those 2 companies have taken the steps (engineering, staff, drivers) to be multiple levels ahead of any other brand. Would it be great if Capital, Category 5, BWRC, and all the others were competitive? Absolutely. But they aren't there. On top of the chassis companies investment, then you have the teams investment that are successful, this is where Dennis is in a bad spot. He's competing against teams that have 3-4 full time crew members and more resources.

At the same time being in a Longhorn doesn't equate to instant success. The ones that are successful (JD, RTJ, BR32, Moran) have all the necessary pieces and are in sync with each other.

Realistically only a handful of drivers have a chance to win every night.. When was the last time there was an "upset" on the national scene. Compare that to the two National Sprint car tours. Yes Gravel and Sweet win a lot, but TEN WINS is considered an outstanding year, compared to two or three drivers on the DLM side with 30 PLUS wins a year. So predictable.

Agreed with both. DLM is in the worst spot it's been in in my lifetime & I'm 53. The big races have never been more predictable nor had a smaller pool of potential winners. There have always been dominant guys, but the big shows used to have a larger pool of realistic potential winners. Nowadays at your typical Lucas race you could list 5 guys & you've got the winner 90 plus percent of the time. And 2 of those 5 are winning a big majority of that 90%. If it's a crown jewel with all the big guns there & track is bigger than a 1/3 or 3/8, your list of winners is 20RT, 49, 32, 76, 99, 71, 1 with an occasional Alberson or someone like that thrown in. Of that list the first 3 are winning the vast majority. And if it's a Lucas race, they are most likely starting on the front row & leading every lap.

My gut feeling is they need to get on a different shock program. Fact that HTF has had multiple failures in the few months they run this car points to an issue. They also have a hard bouncing issue. Everyone races the same track and some are better at mising holes, if the front end jumps a foot off the ground every few laps, something gotta change.

Capital Race Cars begins a new chapter for 2024
It’s been 13 years since Marshall Green and Shane Clanton created the first Capital Race Car. In that short time span, Capital Race Cars has become a household name in the world of dirt late model racing. Accomplishments include thousands of feature wins across the United States, Australia and Canada, a World of Outlaws National Title, the coveted Chassis Manufacturer of the Year title along with numerous regional and local track championships.
The 2024 race season began with Shane Clanton and Chad Smith at the helm. Their company SCCS Solutions LLC purchased the Capital Race Cars Division of Capital Fabrication Inc. in January.
“This is something that Marshall (Green) and I have talked about from day one, that when I decided to come off the road full time the opportunity would be available to become a partner in Capital Race Cars. I am at a point in my career where I want to spend more time with my family and continue giving back to the sport that’s been good to me,” Clanton shared. “Chad Smith and I started talking about the possibilities, and it got us both excited. We formed SCCS Solutions LLC and worked out the details to buy Capital Race Cars.”
Marshall Green and his staff at Capital Fabrication Inc. continue to manufacture the Capital Race Cars chassis.
“This has been in the works for some time,” said Marshall Green. With the passing of my mother-in-law Martha Swims, my attention has been divided between Capital and our family-owned businesses at Dixie and Rome Speedway. I’m excited about what the future holds in this next chapter. God has greatly blessed my efforts over the years, allowing me to experience success on many sides of this sport. This joint venture with Shane and Chad is a great step in our goal to build the Capital brand and to better serve all our customers present and future!”
Shane added, “It means a lot to carry on the Capital Race Cars legacy, and we're very excited to see what the future will hold.”
