Suave was fine doing his own deal on things like one lap one beer & suave talk. They were very low key, fun little interviews and served a purpose. When Joshua Joiner left DOD and they made Suave the host of the dirt reporters, his whole routine and vibe took a lot away from the show. It felt like took the exact format from his & terbo's podcast and tried to cram it right into the dirt reporters. I finally quit listening because it felt like he was always tiptoeing around asking any real questions, and on the rare chance he did actually ask a good hard hitting question, he would end it by laughing like he was worried about hurting the guests feelings and wanted the safety net of being ablet to say he was joking if things went bad.

He posted this morning on X that for the first time in 13 years he wouldn’t be at Speedweeks.
He hasn’t been on the DOD videocast programming recently either.
On DOD site under Staff he is still listed.
he got married and has some children now- just hoping it’s not health related.

If there was one guy that I would like to see in the late model booth, it would be Tony LaPorta who is currently with High Limit. Reminds me a lot of Brian Lohnes who I think is the best announcer in any form of motorsports.
I also agree with the track assessments by DJ and Ben. They are over obsessed with bragging up a particular track. I think they take the social media criticism too seriously.
The hotsauce hotpit area is growing old as well. I'm sure they generate sponsor $$ from it but how many times a night is enough?

This just gets you excited. Thursday Night Thunder, American Sports Calvalcade, TNN Sprint Car Shows had it going on in the late 80's early 90's.

The Flo guys are pretty solid, but I think they could take a few pointers from guys like Larry Rice, Larry Nuber, Bob Jenkins, Ralph Sheheen, Brock Yates, Steve Evans.

They all could improve their technical presentation. Pretty clueless.

Amen! Probably the biggest thing that we all can do is make sure the sponsors on the racers know that we appreciate the support. The support they give far out weighs what they receive in return in most cases, so any chance you have to give them a shout out we should do (even if you do not care for the driver). I get a ton of people wanting me to sponsor and not a one has come back to me with a reasonable return on investment that makes sense, so if we do something it is for the sport or to help out the individual.
